>on the air for over 15 years
>literally no one quotes memorable scenes, gags, or makes references
>no influence or mark on popular culture
>not a household name with tons of merchandise and related media

I don't understand. Is it popular or not?
>>
>>89274869
It does have memorable scenes, gags, and quotes normies use. Though it has no mark on pop culture or anything, because it relies on pop culture itself.
>>
>>89274869
I think cutaway scenes from new episodes posted directly to YouTube get more views than the actual episodes. "PETER BECOMES UBER DRIVER" has been in my recommended for over a week.
>>
>>89274887
Family Guy fits perfectly with YouTube. Short, funny self contained segments.
>>
>>89274869
Stoned college kids, and stoned college graduates and stoned college drop outs like it.
>>
>>89274907
Go on youtube and check out the comment section on family guy episodes.

They are all made by kids under 18.
>>
>>89274907
Source?
>>
>>89274907

They really don't.

They're all watching Bojack Horseman and Orange is the New Black

I remember watching Family Guy when it first aired in 1999 and thought it was the funniest cartoon at the time because The Simpsons started to suck really bad. No one at school thought it was funny, I was even called a faggot for liking the show.
Of course it wasn't until Family Guy aired on Adult Swim that people started giving a shit and even more so when the new episodes came out in 2004. Family Guy has sucked since season 4 with few moments of comedic genius, but everyone loves the shit out of Family Guy and good shows go unnoticed, I still want a third season of Black Dynamite and a fifth season of Superjail!
>>
When they "killed" Brian all of the news networks were talking about it, probably because it happened when there was nothing else to talk about
>>
>>89275040
First 3 seasons of Family Guy are legitimately good. Tired of /co/'s contrarian ass trying to claim otherwise
>>
>>89274907

Maybe back in 2004-2007. Now it's just kids
>>
>>89274869
That's not true there are some memorable gags, it's just that there are no memorable episodes. None of the jokes come from the plot they are all non sequitur, random jokes.
>>
If you say giggity a lot of people will know what you're talking about. It transcended its show in the same way "d'oh" did with The Simpsons.
>>
>>89274869

I quote the show daily.

Every time I take shit.
>>
>>89275871
I sincerely doubt that
>>
Family guy used to have merchandise, mostly of Stewie.
These days, only kids like it because it's edgy. It's like advanced Happy Tree Friends.
Also this is the third or fourth FG theead I've seen recently. What's going on?
>>
>>89274869
>no influence or mark on popular culture
>nobody quotes the following shit
>don't say doin your wife don't say doin your wife don't say doin your wife- doin your son???
>you know what else is gross? *fart* AHHH BROKE A DAMN BLOOD VESSEL
>mommy, mommy, mama, mamma, mom, mom. WHAT? Hi, hehehehehe
>so you got somethin to look at when you're talkin to em
>my cereal does not cut the roof of your mouth
>Oh reginald, I disagree
>almost, almost, almost, ah there we are. Well done
>DUDE THIS CAR KICKS ASS AND I CAN WATCH MADAGASCAR WHILE I'M DRIVING
>anytime Herbert or Quagmire is on screen
>Cleveland in the bathtub
>what the duece??
>Shut up Meg, Meg sweep that up
>that scene where buff Stewie bullies Brian on the stairs
>How the hell did all this skin get on my arm?
>the writers thinking smashing Brian with a car would be a good idea and everyone laughing at how hamfisted it was
>So like, can they understand the baby or??
>Louis, better make that two ambulances *unicycle stuck in ass*
>Oh hi Bonnie, this is my friend Big Fat Paulie, and this is his big fat ass
>D-d-d-do I have to? You wanna be a star don't you? TAKE IT OFF. Yeah, yeah, that's nice.
>Chester Cheetah listening to Rush for whatever reason
>Family Guy giving birth to American Dad
>>
>>89274907
come join us in 2017 mate
>>
>>89276358
I'll add
>KISS Saves Santa
to that list.
>>
>>89274903
So why did Seth's Comedy Cadaver or whatever the hell it was called fail so hard?
>>
>>89276760
Because they released it as a DVD instead of a Youtube series.
>>
>>89276358
I literally have no idea what those are
>>
>>89276358
.....no one sayss these things
>>
>>89274869
Ignore the Simpsons fag.
>>
>>89276358
I don't recognise any of these quotes. Not even a single one.
>>
>>89276358
>Family Guy giving birth to American Dad
Roger is the worst thing about that show
if he wasn't introduced or wasn't such a cunt American Dad would be better 1000 times over

Not everything popular is literally the Simpsons, one of the most successful media franchises of all time.
>>

>Seth's Comedy Cadaver
boy, that brings back some horrible memories

Literally no one ever quotes this. If someone said "what the deuce" they would get their ass kicked but granted, people would know where it came from
>>
>>89274869
It's cheap to produce
>>
>>89274869
Stupid show, but funny enough to entertain people via shock value.

>>
>>89280285
I recognize them but you're fucking delusional if you think the average person is saying them or even thinking about them
>>
>>89276358
Everyone who claims not to know these quotes are contrarian. At my college, any of these quotes will get a laugh (just as long as you space it out). Family Guy is for normies.
>>
>>89274869
>over 15 years
It has been that long? Where did all that time went?
>>
I'd still rather watch Family Guy than any other "adult" cartoon
>>
>>89274869
>giggity
>>
>>89280309
>I am right, everyone else is contrarian
>>
>>89280340
Actually, it's been 17 years, soon to be 18. Family Guy came out in 1999.

Phantom Menace is now older than the OT was when it was first released
>>
>>89280379
>meme arrows
XD
But I am right. People know these quotes. Try going outside and socialising in between your /co/ masturbation sessions.
>>
>>89280409
Meme arrows mean you are implying something. You seem new so I thought I'd let you know before you come across as stupid. Happy posting new friend!
>>
>>89280409
The only FG quote I have heard out in the real world is 'Giggity giggity." That's it. Sorry.
>>
>>89280194
>If someone said "what the deuce" they would get their ass kicked
You have to be 18 yada yadda
>>
I first heard the term Normies from family Guy
>>
>>89280194
Just because you get your ass kick all time doesnt mean it's family guys fault. I say it all the time and get nothing but laughs. Maybe the only thing that matters is the person telling the joke and not so much the joke.
>>
>>89274869

More popular than any of the garbage /co/ likes, so yes
