It's basically just that idiots with a simple memory, or that didnt read enough Archie comics just recall Jughead as a simple asexual wiseass. This is because unlike Archie, who was the main romantic lead, and Reggie, who was his romantic rival, Jughead was usually this emotionally safe refuge who constantly avoided relationships. Which, since the writers liked fucking with him- gave him the ugliest fucking chick as a romantic liason he'd never accept.

It's obvious that modern views of the writings would have him as a sweet asexual, since the writers of the past never gave him a real girl.

The better question is, why the fuck is Erica Henderson still getting work? This doesn't look as bad as Squirrel Girl, but it's not great. I remember the main Archie book a couple of years ago having good art and don't get me started on Afterlife With Archie's superb art.

You know, that was also Jughead's problem. He basically wants a Betty- a problem free, emotionally stable, hot, steady, not too aggressive, but still loving, ect. There's actually been several stories along those lines; some of the few times Jughead has blown up at Archie was because of his treatment of Betty. Plus Betty has expressed some interest in him in the past as well.

Before the personalities really become set, they were probably debated pairing them off and ending the love triangle altogether but decided against it.

Yeah, and there was the thing with Midge in Life with Archie but it's sweet fuck all in the scheme of things. Archie has been going on for like 75 years. For the vast, vast majority of that time, it's been a core part of Jughead's character that he isn't interested in girls or romance.

They just slapped a label on something that's been there since your grandparents were kids. It's a complete non-issue.

why is /co/ so easily triggered by even the most minor changes to characters. Actually this isn't even a change, it's just applying a label to something that's been a part of his characters the whole time.
