She gets more leeway and forgiveness for her mistakes and desires than her brother does. It's a noticeable but, frankly, pretty minor flaw in the writing.

However, a girl character getting better treatment than a guy is exactly the kind of thing that internet lunatics will obsess over, exaggerate, and generally freak the fuck out about.

To be honest, I could forgive most of her awfulness if she just apologized and felt guilty for causing the apocalypse and nearly killing everybody she loves.

It doesn't necessarily HAVE to be "I'm the worst person who ever lived, I don't deserve to be alive, just erase me from existence and do the whole world a favor" levels of guilt, but I'd be fine with "I really, really, REALLY messed up and I have a lot to make up for" levels.
