It might be great but Marvel is a event-whore wish they were more like DC and just let the book breath for a while.

I hate how Ms.Marvel is right now or how 6 issues of Ultimates dealt directly with Civil War II stuff.

I know, Civil War II was a massive hype killer (with exception for that Loki vs Thor tease). However, Hydra Cap was by far the best part of the entire event, so making him the main focus (and bringing in a better writer) could bring major improvements.

I'd recommend that the main character of DCU Rebirth be involved with the plot progression of DCU Rebirth instead of Barry Allen or Batman?

Wally's the one who magically shot the button at Batman. And the one who told Barry about the letter. It's not very sensible they just leave him out of what's going on.

But yeah, sure, I guess Batman needs the Watchmen sales bump.
>>
>>89089088
No, they dealt with Abra Kadabra which led to a red herring.

Wally is literally the only person alive who could know anything about what happened and he's just not involved in figuring out what happened.

Flashpoint was one of the worst Dc comics ever released. And not because of the reboot, it was pure edgy shit, exposition and "hype" scenes to make up for a lack of good writing. You have to be seriously retarded to enjoy it, on any level.

Yes I totally want a Hydra Wars in any form but I don't trush Marvel with events.

The quality of the main-event might be good but pushing yet again a third time in less than a year to another crossover is to fucking much.

Big Crossovers should be once a year period.
>>
Yay! It`s Before Watchmen 2!
>>
Im the guy who does chronological storytimes. I have most of the watchmen/losh references post rebirth, but I haven't read any flash issue because the rebirth issue was really, really bad. Has ANYTHING important happened in that book? Even a minor thing? Sally showed up, that had to matter
>>
>>89089298
>Flashpoint was one of the worst Dc comics ever released

You need to read more Anon. Flashpoint was pretty bottom of the barrel, but far from the worst. You want shit events? Check out Bloodlines, Armageddon, Genesis, or the actual worst, Countdown to Final Crisis.

I mean I loved Ultimates and hulk during civil war II, I read the main book online and bendis never saw my money. Why are they so terrible for people? Just ignore the main book. Seeing a tie in Shit on the main book continuity wise is amazing.

And you know this how? Did you read the book? Wally's entire subplot is about finding clues with his group while Barry also does the same with Batman in a corner. Wally already told Barry about everything he knows about, including Kadabra in Flash #9.

Obviously once this 4 issue crossover is done, Barry will track down Wally to tell him about what happened. That will go back and forth until the real Crisis hits.
>>

This is bullshit and they only did it to hype sales for Rebirth launch

They are going to wait a year later to follow up on the Watchmen crossover. That's how I know they didn't even have a story. One of those "idea guys" like Johns or Dan Dildo was like "ddude what if Watchmen! It'll sell books!" and it did. Meanwhile, there's no fucking story because Johns is a hack and he didn't think this shit through

Linda didn't know Wally when he was a kid.

Manhattan took away the 10 years of Wally's adult life, not his life as a kid. Iris would remember him the same way the Titans and Barry would. He seems to only be able to restore memories that could exist in the New 52.

That would include Iris, who's known him since he was born and raised him since he was 10.

Its like what story is there to tell here? If its something like Watchmen vs Justice League then I don't see how that works without coming off as...cringy? But watchmen isn't even that different from DC in terms of the shit the heroes actually do so how do you explain the fact that in one universe the public are reacting realistically to the costumed sociopath vigilantes but in another the exact same public love them?

Nah, Chance didn't really do much detective work. He just beat the shit out of people until they told him what he wanted to know, which to be fair worked very well in his sector.
>>
>>89091091
Well one of the many points of watchmen was that the only reasons people would wear a mask and go around punching criminals instead of say opening an orphanage is because they're fucked in the head or get off on it somehow.

And ultimately in terms of their outward appearance and actions, they're the same.

Watchmen is just DC with realism goggles on.
>>
>>89091261
But Batman IS fucked in the head and Wayne Manor practically IS an orphanage, and we know he likes to keep the masks on because it's apparently better that way.

What now?
>>
>>89091261
Their motivations influence their actions and the perceptions of them, people may not know specifics but they know they aren't superheroes because of compassionate reasons, they want money, fame, thrills or to vent their issues.
>>
>>89091275
Exactly my point, and Batman isn't being used as a media spearhead to ban masked vigilantes.
>>
>>89091301
Only because Bruce Wayne owns 99.9% of Gotham and probably forces the media to not shit on Batman.

Watchmen was wrong.

Shit opinions like this are why Watchmaniggers are cancer
>>
>>89091261
Watchmen was about more than that.

I think a realistic universe, insomuch as any superpowered universe can be, is a universe where heroes rise as a response to supervillains rather than the reverse. Most people would either not immediately try to be heroes or use their powers for personal gain.

Batman's just a fucking lunatic.

I’d watch it desu
Also, even if this ends up sucking balls, it isn’t ruining anything. Watchmen will always be there, and DC sure as fuck will keep it that way with constant reissues. If this turns out to be a great (doubt it) story, then everyone’s happy. If not, then everyone ignores it like they did Before Watchmen. While I think this probably will be mediocre, I think people are overreacting about it “ruining” Watchmen or some shit.

Reminds me of when the Joker cut his face off in Detective and then it wasn't touched on for a fucking year and when it was addressed it was in another book entirely.

Protip: DC rarely has any fucking clue what they're doing. Sometimes they can pull something out of their ass that works, a lot of times they can't. Shit, this whole "rebirth" era is going to be two years of changing the status quo of the New 52 back into the closest they can get to the Pre 52 because they completely fucked themselves over in the long run for short term gains.

Like they do.
>>
>>89090847

Because Johns is a fucking hack.

Manabooch's run was ok. Story was mediocre, but Manapul's art is GOD tier on the New 52 Flash. the Grodd arc is pretty good at least.

Rebirth seems ok so far but the pacing through the first ten or so issues was not great. It's ironic that DC's fastest man alive has a book with the slowest momentum but maybe it reads better all in one go.

FFS DC STOP IGNORING MARTIAN MANHUNTER'S EXISTENCE
>>
>>89089088
Sort of.
Wally's aware of someting "bigger" fucking with the DC universe during flashpoint, no idea what it is. Lilith read Kadabra's mind and saw the word "Manhattan", which led to them thinking they needed to set up a base in NYC.
>>
>>89088767
Manapul's run was decent. The stories were serviceable and imo it was worth it for the amazing art. Manapul should do Flash art forever.
>>
>>89093907
Manapul just needs to be paired with a competent writer. Something the Flash apparently hasn't had since 2005, despite retreading previously good writers.
>>

Reading people to understand their motives is part of detective work.

Martian Manhunter is very, very good at that.

You're an idiot. They deliberately set up an event story that wouldn't happen for a year specifically so they could have that time to re-establish everyone's status quos first because that was the more important of Rebirth's two goals.
