Would Superman Lives have been a good movie?
Nick Cage as Superman sounds so hilariously bad I need to see it.

Thought that was Bizarro on the left.
>>89077972
I bet he'd smile a lot more than Cavill. The idea of Superman having a Nicholas Cage -freakout sounds scary though.

Who would have been the primary antagonist?Queen Bee?
>>89078206
John Travolta as Metallo.
>>89077972
I think there's a really good chance he would have inadvertently got that Ed Wood vibe going and given us the superhero answer to Plan 9 from Outer Space.

amazing how idiotic Hollywood is with its ip's

I think I remember reading somewhere that it was meant to have Kevin Spacey as Lex and Jim Carrey as Braniac
>>89080151
Christopher Walken was also considered for Brainiac i think
In the documentary they made jokes about how that would make the Brainiac-Luthor duo perfect since Spacey likes to make impressions of Walken

For fucks sake stop caring about Kevin Smith, the fat ass hole hasn't done anything good outside green arrow comics.

>implying Smodcast isn't great

Personally, I kind of surprisingly dig more or less final versions of the costume.
If Cage would've gotten just a bit more beefy, he might've worked as Supes.
But as far as plot goes, I doubt doing Death of Superman would've worked.
>>89080881
It was either going to be Braniac or Perry White.

>But as far as plot goes, I doubt doing Death of Superman would've worked.
Same, and yet here we are oddly enough.
And its still likely to be as bad an idea as was thought about back then. Least it isn't zombie supes I guess.

GIANT
SPIDERS
Playing Clark as a coked up spazz would have been a weird take on the character
Burton's Batman wasn't exactly like the comics but they were some of the best Cape Flicks made so maybe his Superman would have been good
(or at least interesting)
Reminds of Boorman's Lord of the Rings idea/jodoworsky's dune. It was different enough from the source material to be judged on its own merits (if it was ever made) That complaining about how different it was would be meaningless.
I just want Brad Bird to do a superman movie...thats all
>>89081839
Boorman's LOTR and Jodorowsky's Dune make Burton's Batman look like Chris Columbus's Harry Potter.
>>89078023
Same
he looks like a human toy come to life through magic
>>89081863
Boorman's LotR turned into Excalibur
Jodoworskys Dune became Incal
When will Burton turn his superman into something great?
>>89078206
A thanagarian snare beast.
>>89083160
Par for the course in Burton movies.
>>89077972
>Implying it would be any worse than what Cavill and Snyder are doing
We are already living in hell, anon
>>89083548
Remember, things can always get worse. Burton's movie would have been worse. The man actively brags about never having read the source material for things he adapts to film.

There was a mini documentary about it.
It actually looked like it was going to be interesting. And Nic Cage DIDNT look too bad. Im serious.
The people involved all seemed pretty passionate about it. Shame it never happened.
