Okay, so you don't like events. I'm talking about the quality of the entire line. Say what you will about Quesada's run, his philosophies, whatever, but the guy's tenure did some pretty cool or, at the least, important things.

I'll admit, there were problems. Lots of problems, even. But with Alonso I can only think of two defining factors:

>Events up the ass

And yeah, I know Quesada's run as EiC had plenty of events, and some of them sucked, but Alonso's tenure has churned out stinker after stinker. They're not even trying at this point.

I also wish every new book starring a female character didn't devolve into "My wacky quirky empowering adventures! With special guests: Every popular female Marvel character" Most of the solo books starring ethnic characters are fine though. Miles and Sam Wilson need work.

But the one thing I really don't like is how hard they refuse to learn lessons from sales trends.

Eh, Alias, Supreme Power, and Ennis stuff seem like the only real successes there.

And the former two eventually got folded into the regular lines (which pretty much killed SP).

Still better than whatever the fuck imprints like Tsunami were, though.

Dude. Heroes Return had some of the best runs of Avengers characters ever.
Marvel Knights was at the very least 80% gold.
Ultimate was genuinely exciting and refreshing for a while.
Even some of those events weren't at all "bad"

The "events up the ass" bullshit is a good part of what's killing modern capeshit, Marvel and DC. Event fatigue is a real thing, Civil War II is some good proof of that.
