Cave Carson is my favorite Young Animal comic
I like Doom Patrol but it never seems to move the plot forward , its just weird stuff (I'll probably like it a lot more when I read the entire story at once).
I didn't expect much from Cave but its been a great adventure with an interesting mystery. Plus it has Wild Dog...who expected that?

I'm Shade > Cave Carson back-ups > Doom Patrol > Cave Carson > Mother Panic.
Cave Carson and Mother Panic are kinda tied for me honestly. There's parts of both I really like, Mother Panic got a little deeper into it's fuck-up freak murder art with the second issue and Cave Carson is pretty hit-and-miss per issue for me. I definitely agree with >>88998876 there's a lot of overlap between how Mother Panic feels and for instance, Batwoman.
If you like the Cave Carson back-ups I can heartily recommend G.I. Joe vs Transformers by the same artist. Honestly one of my favourite comics of last year, of course you might've read them already.

Oh. They're great. It's usually a page or two of the Wonder Twins and other stuff - one issue has maybe the greatest Green Arrow page ever printed.

The delay on Doom Patrol is a shame, it was my top pick. Cave will hopefully payoff. I like Shade for the nostalgia factor alone. Mother Panic is okay. Scioli backups are the jam.

Just can't stand the Cave Carson art. Mother Panic is basically a Batbook, but it's a kind of Batbook that DC haven't been providing recently. Concerned to see that it has an artist change coming up with #4, as Tommy Lee Edwards' art is perfect for it.
