The last books are only awesome when the plot is compressed, though; when reading them in full it's pretty obvious that the author was running out of ideas badly.

In the soviet adaptation after original story happened, servant of the wicked witch of the east scravenges her house and finds magical powder which can bring inanimate objects to life, he finds this after accidentally reviving a bear skin, which serves as his second in command, after that he creates company of wooden soldiers all by himself and leads them to Emerald city, given that now it is a completely peaceful land he easily conquers it and starts using fear tactics to subjigate and rule everyone.
