I see puppet threads on here from time to time.
How about animatronics?
This one's tangentially /co/ related, and I've actually seen it in person.
Disney Animatronics freak me out more than usual, they're too 'realistic' and yet very cartoony at the same time.

In Japan, there's an old abandoned theme park with an animatronic John Wayne just sort of chilling out...creepy, ain't it?
There's another pic with his brains sticking out.
Some weird foreign Looney Tunes attraction.
Here's another one I remember as a youngster...at some creepy ass Chuck E. Cheese knock off in Nashville
Apologies for the watermark. It was the best picture I could find. In Germany, there's some Warner Bros. ride featuring an unlikely team up between ALF and Gizmo, from Gremlins.
From a Roger Rabbit ride at Disney...they have this new technique where they project cartoon faces on animatronics to make them seem more like the source material. This isn't one of them, just a bit of fun trivia.
Jesus, this would scare the hell out of me.

Why is Alf trapped in some weird box?
From the same Wild West theme park I posted earlier.
I stumbled upon an old amusement park in Tennessee with animatronics that had been left out to rust in the elements. Shit freaked me out. Wish I had the pics with me.

He's not. That's the control room to the studio or something, and he's sitting behind some control panel.
I have no idea how people do this for a living without suffering from night terrors.
The Winnie the Pooh ride is a trip. Wish I could find a better pic.
Last one, I guess, since no one seems to be interested.

>How about animatronics?
I'm afraid not. Puppets are /co/ because just like animation they're meant to make this non-real abstract thing a character. animatronics are /tv/ because they're meant to actually look real
it's like Tangled is /co/ and Avatar is /tv/

this kind of animatronics is /co/ though. you get the difference, right?
We had a really great discussion about the old Dinosaurs comedy series last night. Animatronics is pretty great stuff.

So much effort and engineering for such a shitty movie.

This is the most horrifying thing I have ever seen
Does anyone know where I can watch that documentary about pic related?

Is the one on the trapeze a chick?
