There are literally, a dozen other, better options to choose from and they pick Darkseid's "who gives a fuck" uncle. The only reason why they chose him, is because they want to cocktease Darkseid like Marvel did with Thanos. This is having your cake and eating it too, because way to blow the Parademon invasion already. Worse yet, its taking notes from the New52 JL, possibly the worst JL origin yet. But the Justice League, far more than the Avengers, have always been these otherworldly godlike figures that stand above everything. It just looks bad when they look like they belong in a Watchmen spinoff universe. Make them vibrant and stand out. They also all look like shit other than Batman and Supes so that doesn't help. Diana is supposed to look like an equal next to the other two not like the kid sister.

If I'm trying to retcon it, the teaser for Justice League appears, and we see Superman-centric shots from MoS to Superman's death in BvS. Screen goes black. Shot of Cavill's closed eyes before they open. He is laying on his back in what looks like a medical facility. Something that looks like a Black Mercy shrivels and falls off of his chest. He gets off of the bed, and stands up looking like pic related, as he moves towards the window with curtains drawn, and throws them open to reveal a view of Earth from orbit with what looks like massive alien space crafts hovering over whatever metropolitan areas may be visible. Cut to rapid shots of the other Leaguers fighting, and static shots of other character intended to be introduced.
The main premise is that the DCEU thus far was one big hallucination of Superman while under the influence of whatever the creature was, but that this is the real DCEU.
I think you could edit the whole thing to take maybe a minute and a half, tops, but I don't even think it'd be that much. Justice League is used as a soft reboot of the entire universe.

I was watching some stuff on Vimeo and caught a video someone made using the Hero's Path (Campbell) stuff with movies (including a very few animated things). While I didn't agree with some of the picks and the images from those picks used (like why include Tom Hanks yelling 'Wilson'?), it was pretty interesting.

It made me think that the Wachowskis could probably make a really interesting DCEU movie and they already work a great deal with WB. The main thing is that WB would likely put them on a leash over their budgetary issues, but they would likely agree. I'm not sure they would be good for the Flash, but they could do some really interesting stuff with Green Lantern Corps.

WB just needs to get some of their directors (like Miller) to agree to do some DCEU films for them.

Nobody has any faith in the DCEU except for hardcore fanboys and sumo intellectuals. WW is going to flop horribly and JL is going to defang its own drama by bringing Superman back to life, effectively making any deaths that happen in the DCEU meaningless bc "well, why don't they just bring them back like they did Superman"

Affleck wants to drop his movie if DC/WB doesn't let him get more time on it, we still don't have a director for Flash, Aquaman is running into trouble b/c they don't know how to film underwater.

It's just a big stinking mess. Honestly better off scraping the entire thing and funneling whatever they have left into a low-budget reboot w/ a better director.

Snyder's movies are too dark, and they are essentially antithetical to Superman as a concept, but that isn't why they're bad. They're bad because they're poorly constructed and value cheap, empty payoff over a slow build.

Justice League looks like it will be a more crowd-pleasing movie, but unless Snyder somehow figured out how to tell a coherent story between BvS and JL, it won't be any better of a movie.

I've lost all faith in WB. Both their attempts to kick off a shared universe ala MCU have failed spectacularly. Green Lantern was a flopping turd, BvS was a massive disappointment despite having been in the works for over a fucking decade, and has turned a huge amount of normies off from DC movies period.

How did they drop the ball this hard? Unlike Disney/Marvel, WB/DC has had access to all its A-listers from the start, they could have wiped the floor with Marvel. But now we live in a universe where fucking Iron Man pulls in bigger audiences than Batman and Superman combined.

Starro was the best choice, its vastly different to what Marvel's doing, totally justifies in-team fighting, and of course Merchandise!
Own the regular Justice League Superman figure as well as the " starro controlled" variant.
And starro is the leagues first villain right? So you have iconography there too.
DC and WB and Snyder and co. Are too afraid and unimaginative to figure out how to make anything work.
