In a nutshell, is this some disgustingly edgy anti-Superman propaganda?

No, it's a comic book mostly about Batman and how he sees the world after decades of fighting crime and some retirement period.

There is nothing wrong with the portrayal of either Batman or Superman in DKR.
>>
Superman doesn't need Frank Miller to prove that he's shit. His own comics are enough
>>
not at all superman plays a minor role towards the end and is sympathetic even if he's written a little to boyscouty

Why do Superfags have such victim complex?
>>
Not really, it's just really easy to take that one fight scene out of context

Quite the opposite.
>>
I felt like the Dark Knight Returns was actually anti-Batman to be honest.
>>
>>88930602
No, it's more "Batman is huge and so is my dick" propaganda
>>

Frank Miller considers Batman a "terrorist". It's not meant to be taking Batman's side on anything.

Miller has also said that he considers superheroes "incredibly stupid".
>>

"Incredibly stupid" is exactly what I love about super heroes.
>>

Miller actually loves Batman and capes. He even defended cape comics in a debate against Harvey Pekar.

because it's just one guy shitposting

If I were to meet you in real life I'd like to buy you a beer.
>Also TDKR was an exercise in 4x4 grid storytelling that was absolutely masterful. I'd shit myself if I had to implement such a structure in my work.
>>
>>88932961
It's been a thing among superfags since more than a decade, about how Miller and TDKR were the reason for Superman's decline.

As a big time time superfag, I think Superman's portrayal in it is actually very interesting and as extreme as it is, still an entirely valid interpretation.

The only real problem I can see with it is that DKR is one of those "starter" comics everybody reads when they first get in (or even if they're not comic people generally) and it's probably a pretty bad first impression. But that's hardly the fault of Miller or his work.
