I know, but the green one was a culmination of lukes journey to be a jedi, and is symbolic of him accepting his own belief, instead of being handed it by others

i think it looks to ornate and smooth to look like it was made in star wars, they deliberately used camera parts and added banding and alernating tube sizes to give a more greebled look, and to give it that star wars flair

The rate and severity at which you age depends largely on how physically active you are. This is literally basic biology. Take a martial art and you'll find that your longevity and general health can potentially be miles above the average being's. Yoda, Qui-Gon, Mace, Dooku, Sheev and any other older Force user were as relatively youthful in body as they were because they were physically active going into advanced age. The Jedi training regimen kind of calls for it. Nothing to do with the Force, really. Just move your body.

Obi-Wan doesn't exactly benefit from this because we can see un the mainline comic that he attempts to avoid physical confrontation whenever he can help it, and he's living for the next twenty years in a perpetual aris, desert climate where moisture isn't even a commodity. A terrible combination.

How do you reckon?
The show got up its own ass a few seasons back about how "OMG it's the show where bad things happen all the time!"
So now it's a constant one-upping of the bad guys to do bad things.
There's very little grey while being "grey" is the books' whole thing.

Like when Arya kills that guy in Braavos. We already knew he was a fucking asshole. She had plenty of reason to kill him.

That fight was so good and so bad at the same time.
If it was just a 5 minute fight that stayed in one room, it'd have been amazing.

But it goes too far in a few places. Like one minute they're doing Tarzan swings at each other from ropes, and then they're sailing on lava robots.
It got to the point where it was almost like one of the Chicken fights in Family Guy

I also liked the TFA fight at the end. The lighting on the trees was rad

Knowing Rian's affinity for the Prequels, probably. Kylo managed a good mix of PT proficiency and OT pragmatism, so as long as Luke doesn't teach her to wield a lightsaber as a fucking battle hammer, it should be fine.

I like every lightsaber fight in these movies.

Obi-Wan vs Vader on Mustafar and Old Obi-Wan vs Vader on the Death Star are just as good for different reasons.

It's the best fight in the franchise. The fight with Vader and Luke in ESB moved around just as much and cut around just as much, but Obi v Anakin actually looks like two trained force users fighting.

The TFA fight was just too short and boring to be fun. I get that they're not trained warriors, but that's just an excuse for not fun choreography, especially because it should have been one sided from the start.

>>88897757
Anakin and Luke had a serioud of training by that point, bud.

>Will we ever get good choreography like this again?

Not in anything post RoTJ. Vader was the last person alive who mastered Lightsaber combat. Luke should logically never have that kind of prowess because he'd never have anyone to learn from and most artifacts detailing Lightsaber techniques were likely confiscated and destroyed by the Empire. And I wouldn't be surprised if the Jedi archives were damaged from vandalism during the riots on Coruscant.

The Jedi, assuming Luke restarts the Order AGAIN, will likely not posess the kind of prowess their predecessors had during the Clone War for probably a century or two provided they keep up a good pace in practice and record.

The music that plays when Luke goes crazy after Vader mentions Leia is the best music in the entire series, bar none.
There's such a back and forth of emotions in that scene too.
Luke trying pacifism until Vader goes after Leia, then peace again after he realizes what he did in his anger.

I hope that Luke in VIII is more emotionally well rounded than the previous Jedi Order

I can't be the only one who thought the Rey vs. Kylo fight was going to end in a draw to establish an ongoing rivalry and give the characters a connection via scars, right?
>>
How are supposed to take Kylo seriously as a threat?

Yes Kylo was trained by Luke, and by Sidious 2.0... Yet he loses to a Stormtrooper, and someone with zero training in the force. Yeah he survives a Wookieblaster shot, but Finn, and Rey should never have landed a single hit on him.

It took Luke with Obi-Wan+Yoda training, three attempts and an entire trilogy just to scratch Darth Vader. Rey picks up a lightsaber for her first swordfight and five minutes later Vader Junior is flat on his back at her mercy.

You can try to say his "training wasn't complete" despite the fact that he's a thirty year old man, but Rey will be training for the same amount of time he his and she'll be training under the guy that fed Vader his own hand and then spent thirty years advancing since then.

If the blades are a proper sword length, a reverse grip is the absolute worst thing to do and would make them even more awkward than if the blades were knife/dagger length.

I'm going off of realistic application. In star wars, those hook things might work if the people writing a story want them to. In real life, a reverse grip isn't good for anything that isn't a knife/dagger.

Kylo was fighting with a literal handicap having just been shot by Chewie's gun, something shown to be akin to the force of a grenade launcher. The very fact he withstood it and got back up had to be pure force driven willpower.

That's easy. It turns out Vos actually has no personality of his own. They explain that in the book. It's why he is so good at undercover work but also why he finds he sometimes falls too deeply into his roles.

Why did the EU fuck up the whole rule of two thing?

Yoda/the council makes it clear in TPM that they
1. Knew about the rule of two
2. Thought that the sith had been extinct for a millenia

This means that the rule of two was how the sith operated BEFORE their supposed dissappearance 1000 years ago.

Why did Jedi vs. Sith go full retard?

Is Corellia the mid-20th century Detroit of Star Wars?
>>
>>88900166
>>88900215
>>88900272
>>88900299
Even the Empire used them in Legends material.
>>
>>88900272
I keep wondering why those clamshell transports are everywhere. They can't defend themselves and they don't seem to carry fighters of their own, so why the fuck are they in every fleet action? They're like fuelers for ships that don't require fuelers.
>>
>>88900322
Wouldn't that be Kuat? That's where all the Star Destroyers come from.
>>
>>88900272
>Bringing unarmed transport ships to a fleet engagement.
>>
>>88900140
since when do jedi ever care about danger close
>>
>>88900322
Legends Corellia was basically space America(Mostly Texas and golden-age detroit)+Scottland+Ireland
>>
>>88900337
the GR-75 is unarmed, but is useful for coordinating numerous fighters

its a command and control ship, as well as ECM
>>
>>88900338
Kuat would be Germany making German warships for the Master Race. That's why in the Sequel Era they're still secretly supplying the FO.
>>
>>88900322
Yes. Corellia is one of the largest starship manufacturing worlds in the galaxy, rivalling Kuat, Bilbringi, Duros, and Anaxes.

fuck me I'm dead wrong they only had GR75s, X-wings, Y-wings and a bunch of unidentifiable crap at the end of ESB

>>88900337
>>88900343
We don't know that Gallofree GR75s are unarmed, we just don't see any thing on them that is obviously a weapon. It's entirely possible they have hidden weapons either hidden under the outer shell or within the greebly part. I personally don't buy the old EU suggestion that they're kamikaze bomb ketches.
>>
>>88900353
I remember Luke opining about Wedge and Han being insufferable pricks whenever ship talk came up because they came from Corellia.
>>
>>88900166
>most common capital ship
They're not capital ships. They're more like gunboats. If a corellian corvette goes down, it's not the kind of loss that can signal a defeat in the engagement. Losing one of their large frigates or a mon cal cruiser would be a better example of a capital ship as they would be the kinds of ships that lead the rebel fleet.
>>
>>88900337
>>88900343
Minelayers and meatshields. I remember in the Legends novel Choices of One Thrawn's forces essentially had lighter capital ships orbit their Star Destroyer to body block, taking pressure off the ISD's shields, and the they would take cover behind the Star Destroyer while their own shields recharged.

These were Carrack cruisers in the novel and those are not small ships overall, actually being larger than Nebulon Bs, but the principal could still apply.
>>88900369
And the cargo pods can be filled with explosives and jettisoned as mines.
>>
>>88900408
It's canon, rewatch Rogue One, they ram into Vader's SD
>>
>>88900408
in some they have light AA, but they are never shown armed with large guns

they are usually retrofitted with comms equipment and ECM

I don't think they were ever kamikazes, but they COULD carry a bunch of http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/CL-3_antistarfighter_cluster_bomb disguised as cargo pods and then jettison them as mines. (And the pods are on magnetic rails that could hypothetically be used as accelerators in a pinch)

I've got most of Season 1 in a MEGA and have added that link to the pastebin, but I'm missing one episode(the old link had two non-YFN encodes and I could only find one of them)

If anyone can find:

in EpV, the ships in bespin are more colorful and shiny since they are mostly out of the war

TCW Grievous struggled for a while. He was overused in the earlier seasons, often poorly. Sure, you got great episodes like "Lair of Grievous" where he fucks shit up, but then you also got episodes like the Goldie two-parter that were just terrible.

The later seasons seemed to do a good job figuring out where he belonged. Even seeing him get fucked by Gungans actually worked -- it was a good episode and an incredibly badass fight, ESPECIALLY considering Gungans were involved.

I think his strongest appearances were Massacre and Son of Dathomir. Stories where Grievous gets to be a murder machine while still being recognizably ROTS Grievous.

The Journals of Ben Kenobi interludes in the Star Wars main comic book are what rule out an Obi-Wan anthology movie.

The story group wants to make sure all the new canon fits with each other. That means stories have to maintain some distance from one another. A Kenobi movie will almost certainly stomp all over the Marvel Star Wars division's toes. They'd never let it happen.

two of which, it was Shaak Ti and Ki Adi Mundi who survived that grievous encounter, barely, and while I like the bit at the end when he kidnaps the chancellor, the rest of genndywars doesn't quite gel with star wars as well as it should. Especially that faggoty awful Durge segment fuckin hell I hated that so much I'm glad its not canon
>>
>>88901301
We saw how Grevious killed Jedi and it was hardy by "dueling" them.
He simply out maneuvered them. Kenobi defeating him makes this evident, just look at how he wielded those lightsabers.

When the hell was there an updated visual dictionary for rebels? How the shit did I miss this? I've only had the crappy first one that came out before the show officially premiered, that only had stuff up until halfway through the first season, and even then not much.

Goddammit this antispoiler shit they pull so idiotically pisses me off. I'm sick of this paranoid plot secrecy surrounding every Goddamn new Star Wars thing, I get that you can't just spoil the plot of everything before it happens, but this permanently unfinished piecemeal bullcrap is so obnoxious.

Durge was too OP in the cartoon and too edgy in the comics. Pretty decent visual design though, and if his powerlevel was turned down I wouldn't mind him that much.

I get that you're agreeing with me, but that's a very poor (and all too common) defense of EU content, which is why I always err on side of the canon purge.

>Durge was also originally going to appear as the first bounty hunter in the 2008 Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series. Supervising Director Dave Filoni and writer Henry Gilroy considered reimagining Durge as a Human character, redesigning his alien features and keeping his armor. The exploration was short-lived, and was ultimately dropped in favor of a new Duros character named Cad Bane.

The NOT MUHs would have been glorious.

I'd have kept most the Bantam books if it wasn't for the "wrong" number of Solo kids. There were only two bad trilogies(With a lot of redeeming points and B/C-plots between them), one bad stand alone, and Jedi Prince which gets its own little category.

The only EU novels I've felt fit to keep are the Thrawn Trilogy, Han Solo Adventures Trilogy, Bounty Hunter Civil War Trilogy, Shadows of the Empire, and The Courtship of Princess Leia (also Jedi prince but that doesn't count). I used to have Allegiance, but I lost it somehow. At any rate, while I like those books, even those shining beacons of talent still have their share of faults and ridiculousness, and I'm mostly glad they're no longer canon. The ones I hated most ironically enough was the Lando Calrissian trilogy, which was preposterously edgy, just absolute racist torture porn and depravity. I have no idea how those got in, it's a million times worse than Splinter of the Mind's Eye.
>>
>>88901855
If you feel bad, don't. It's a visual joke and his droid designation doesn't come up much.
>>
>>88901786
I'm mainly curious to see how the old EU would have justified both drastically different versions of the same character coexisting in continuity.

They wouldn't have coexisted. The human Durge would have overwritten the mass-of-tentacles Durge.
That, or the human would have been stated to have stylized his appearance after the "legendary" bounty hunter Durge.

>>88902135
Ideally it'd be both. Canonically it's just the former, while the Wook tries to have cake and eat it too with the latter

Lando gets tortured by badguys like what, three times? And one of them was really weird force memory torture. Only the "Tied up to a cactus-thing in the absolutely dry freezing cold" had maybe a little too much detail with his skin starting to crack.

It just made his triumphs all the sweeter in the end.

Also where are the X-Wing books you monster? If you're gonna include Courtship you gotta include the Wraiths at the very least, preferably also the Rogue Squadron books.

I, Jedi was quite good as well. As was the Non-Adventures Han Trilogy

Black fleet crisis was take-it-or-leave it (DEFINITELY leave-it in the case of the luke subplot, I get that he needed to be away for the main plot to take place but this was crazy.)

Most of the WEG Adventure Journal stuff was fun, as were the Bantam collections thereof and the other Tales Of/From books. (For the most part, some were wanky or campy)

Hand of Thrawn duology was also good, as were most parts of the Galaxy of FEAR kiddie books (Goosebumps meets Star Wars was a shockingly huge success other than the whacked out powerlevels like the first book's antagonist), and the Young Jedi Knights YA books

I liked the kid parts of the Jedi Academy Trilogy and Crystal Star, but not the bulk of either work, and some of the scenery descriptions in Children of the Jedi (Belsavis was cozy as fuck even though I know I'd personally be miserable living somewhere with no middle ground between humid, sulphur stinking jungles and glacial iceball)) and Darksaber was an example of how close a book can come to perfection before falling into an abyss of mediocrity.

Why not make an anthology movie about every other dead mook who looked kinda cool? Wouldn't be gratuitous and unnecessary at all!
