The original 2099 titles weren't even that bad. Hulk was poorly written and X-Men was too of its time to have aged well and Ravage was just silly, but the rest were mediocre at worst. In particular, Doom and Spider-Man were actually decent. It wasn't until they began cancelling titles and trying to replace them with shitty new team books in the final months of the 2099 line that it all went to shit.
