Salem's secret weapon is a "Young" huntress that is actually several hundred years old, with the combat experience to boot. She happens to be one of the empty chairs.
She is a faunus, with her trait being sharp bat fangs. Her semblence allows her to consume human blood not only to keep her youth, but also to bolster and instantly recover an amount of her aura proportionate to the amount of blood she consumes.
The trade off is that blood is the only "food" she can digest, and simply vomits everything else up, and starvation leads her to recklessness.

She's sensual and seductive, but also ruthless and brutal when needed. Her aristocratic attitude allows her to command a room, but loses her composure rather easily and drops this facade when suffciently enraged.

She is loyal only to Salem, and finds everyone else working for Salem to be beneath her.

She has a soft spot for young virgin males, often keeping one for months at a time as both a play toy and steady source of food.

Her insignia resembles a crusader cross, but RWBYfied.

I think it would be interesting if it didn't. If her new arm acts like her old arm, then she would have no incentive to learn new fighting styles to accommodate her new equipment. If aura didn't cover her new arm, then she would may have to learn how to use it defensively, which would be a welcome change, because her previous defense was a relentless offense.

What I do wonder is if bullets fired can be buffed by how much/how strong a person's aura is. Maybe experienced fighters can learn to strengthen their shots by controlling their aura?

It would make it a little easier to explain why Coco tore through the Breach grimm like paper, and why Ren's bullets literally shoot with the strength of peas, as he has shown to have little stamina.

And I suppose you could buff your bullets through aura, but you'd have to be pretty confident you'd hit if you're investing your shield into that attack. Might be a good technique for snipers, or anyone with a semblance that boosts their accuracy somehow

Aura seems to surround only what a person considers to be "his\hers'. Both Ironwood and Merc recived wide aoe attacks to the face and while neither had their aura broken both lost clothing on the robot parts. Yeah it was used for a reveal, but logic colud be applied here.

I think its a case of damage getting through failing shields. So, taking Merc as an example, he gets caught in that huge fire stream from Amber, and his aura tries to protect his whole body and clothes, but is overwhelmed. So, rather than just fail completely, stops protecting the clothes and starts protecting what it perceives as skin. In Merc's case however, since he went feet first, that 'skin' was actually his cybernetics.
We'd have to see someone else get hit by similar attacks to prove that of course, and I doubt RT is going to allow combat stripping

I finally systemized why do I have a problem with Weiss this whole volume, or at least with how she is written.

She has a shit family, which was both established and demonstrated, okay.
She wants to uphold family name which was, in her mind, trashed by her dad. From what we got about SDC - pretty consistent.
She is supposed to be the 2nd Nick, with the whole huntress who is on the frontline with the people approach. And this is there it falls apart.

1) From what we know of Nick, Weiss is quite different from who Nick was, outside of taking part in combat. Nick specifically went around the world because he wanted to learn stuff, she is just fixated on being a huntress, which in her mind seems to automatically make her able to lead a multi continental company. That is not counting that she probably doesn't remember Nick in any way other than him being dead man walking. Which brings me to:

2) She bases herself entirely on Winter. Winter is probably the only Schnee kid who could've both remembered clearly and known Nick. Chances are she decided to join the military because oh his influence. The problem here is that Winter seems fairly ok with not being part of SDC and encourages Weiss to go and find something for herself, which Weiss does try, to a degree. Except, she somehow is still dumbfounded when Jaq makes Whitley his heir. Which brings:

3) Her whole relationship with Jaq. They frame him as this controlling monster which destroyed both the family and the legacy. Except: he was considered worthy enough by (probably fairly desperate, but still) Nick to be brought into the family. He made SDC exponentially bigger. He had and still has to constantly deal with WFs fucking his shit up and probably killing some of the family members. He still manages to be on somewhat good terms with fucking Ironwood (this one is probably out of necessity though). The fact that he was convinced to let her study at beacon, dealt for 6+ months with her spending the money he gave, yet barely if ever contacting him, and personally came to Vale after fall of Beacon to bring her back to Atlas speaks a fuckin lot. If nothing else he at least had some pretty big plans for her. Hell, he only, after all the teenage rebellion bullshit, finally striped her of her title after she publicly fucked up hard enough to almost kill a person and decided to back talk him afterwards. He even sounded more disappointed than angry especially by the end of it. Is Jaq a good person? No. Does he have every reason to be furious at Weiss? Yes.

4) Fucking Whitley. What did she fuckin expect? He was the one who had to deal with Jaq most of the time, since Winter decided to fuck off fairly early on, Weiss could apparently get away with just ignoring him for months, and Willow apparently giving only marginally more shit than Raven does about her kids at all. No shit he grew up to be both Jaq’s favorite and quite like him in personality.

Jaune is just a do nothing punk bitch. RNR should be sick of carrying him.

There has been a rumor floating around since the season 3 finale that Monty only left RT some rough sketches and a couple footnotes regarding Salem before he died.

After the latest episode, I'm starting to think that may be true.
