What was the message of this ending? That fighting against peer pressure is futile?

>That fighting against peer pressure is futile?
More like don't even try. People are always going to do and believe in stupid bullshit the only thing you can control is yourself
Wendy seemed to give up at the end because of her own latent insecurities she felt she could cover up by changing the the views and opinions of others
It's basically how a fat girl goes on a crusade against fat shaming because she believes once society accepts her she'll stop feeling ugly
>>88850973
> tfw Wendy literally succumbed to a meme
>>88850973
It' a message that nature overcomes the minority always. She wanted to change people for the better and not give into their instincts, but she couldn't because their nature was too powerful and too large and she decided to give in then to continue fighting an uphill battle.
The ending is saying that there is no hope for change, and it's best to be like everyone else rather than try to make a difference because all you will do is make an ass of yourself and make the situation worst.
>>88850973
Yes.
>>88850973
Yeah, probably.
>>88850973
You must have missed the part where caving in emotionally destroyed her.
>>88850973
The moral is that everybody knows bullshit is bullshit, you point it out doesn't make you a smart and special rebel, just a downer.
Think about it like this. Wendy was that person that went around telling all the kids Santa isn't real. No shit. Santa's not real. But good job killing the fun they were having.
>>88852952
Lots of kids genuinely don't know that.
>>88850973
That you don't always win.
>>88850973
I thought it was 'we do this to ourselves'. She knew intellectually that the image was artificial and bullshit and shouldn't matter but at the end of the day she just wanted to be pretty and what she thought of as pretty had been successfully indoctrinated into her by outside influences.
>>88850973
What was the message here?
>>88850973
YES
conform or die
>>88853578
cancer
>>88850973
they just wanted to show what the characters would look like if the show had a higher budget
>>88850973
Southpark doesn't have messenges like that it's satire to make us look dumb. No even kidding. The Wow Episode, The Britney episode, this episode. And pretty much all of them aren't sending a messenge directly to us, but instead just making us look fucking retarded and making fun of people. Unless this is bait, you need to become smarter.
>>88854665
This. South Park is just a big "fuck you." They teased it in Scrotty McBurgerballs where everyone has a wildly different interpretation of a piece of shit book. Then they dropped the ball this past season which ended in a lazy "Lol we trolled you all" plot when their plans were dashed after the campaign.
It's funny watching over the years people arguing whether Matt and Trey were left or right, making fun of Democrats or Republicans. But no, everyone was the target and you're dumb for taking sides *fart*
>>88853578
That weed gives you cancer and KFC cures it.
>>88850973
It was supposed to make you feel sad and bad so the episode will stick with you so you will make better decisions than the characters did in the show.
>>88853578
That only the weak need beaches to sunbathe.
>>88853024
So would you tell them?
And if yes, then for what purpose?
>women deserve to cry
Give me One reason why you should be sad as a woman
>>88856441
experiencing the full breadth of human emotion is important for your psychological health. repressing some or all emotions leaves you unfulfilled, confused, and aimless
>>88854665
Episodes like this one are straight up animated political cartoons
The message is that 'this happens'.
Seriously, not every story is a fable. Some just describe a process to bring a lot of clarity in the viewer or readers mind about what can, might, or does happen, because understanding is an innate good.
1984 didn't end with any advice on how to overthrow the party, the party won, and every idea about how to overthrow the party was, in detail, picked apart and had the reasons it wouldn't work explained. That was the point, you didn't get a guide on revolution against a totalitarian state, you got an understanding of what the most extreme and drastic extension of what a totalitarian state should be.
The episode doesn't have a 'solution' to self-objectification and the greater emphasis based on women's appearance, it just describes it on the presumption that it is something that happens, and therefore is of interest or good to understand.
Hey everybody!
