I'm pretty sure it's the same cat, it lines up with the internal monologue about saving who they can and being heroes. Same eye color too, it's probably a coloring error on in the shadows of the crate.

These ross covers are god tier

I've been reading Marvel comics consistently since 1991 and yet Secret Wars #1 remains the most emotionally impactful issue that I can remember out of Marvel (the death of Phil Sheldon from Marvel's: Eye of the Camera being an extremely close #2). Even knowing it wasn't the actual end, three years of build up gave it serious fucking weight. Even still, knowing the rest of secret Wars ended up being kinda disappointing, I still think that first issue is fucking amazingly executed. I'll occasionally reread the issue and listen to No Time for Caution from Interstellar as the Ark flies off and my eyes well up. Secret Wars #1 + Cap & Mighty Avengers #9 is just a genuinely impactful and emotionally heart wrenching combo for me that continues to resonate.

Because the next event is Hydra War, which Spencer is doing. Ewing is doing the FOLLOWING event, Eternity War, which he is expertly building up to. Unfortunately, none of his build up is selling very well so Marvel might just decide to can it and the whole thing will just end up being a mini-series that no one ties a la Chaos War.

He said he's going to be taking a similar approach with Royals. I can't fucking wait. I know the Inhumans get a lot of hate on /co/ these days, but I've been hoping Ewing would be put on the Inhumans for years and I have faith that he won't disappoint. That Ulysses mini he did was the closest thing to a true Inhumans comic that we've had since this horrible push started.
