It's been a dozen years since this show came out.
12 fucking years.
That's over 4,000 days!

I remember learning that in school
>>88786157
>1990 was 27 years ago
And I've still not fucking finished watching the last few episodes.
I am really bad at procrastinating
>1983 was 48 years ago
The finale and The Dark Knight were during the same summer and /co/ became Avatar and Batman
>>88786783
...no?
And then they had to ruin everything with Korra.
>>88786816
>tfw I didn't finally watch Avatar until several years later and missed the popularity explosion on /co/
I wish I could have joined in the fun and hype.
>>88786816
>>88787281
>/co/ during 2008
I know /b/ existed then but did /co/? also was /co/ less skeptical and more fun back then?what happened
>>88787308
Iirc /co/ was a bit more like /a/ but for Western cartoons and there were no tumblr types to be seen.
>>88787308
More shipping more waifus more creative bait threads more community viewing streams more storytimes more drawfriends (up for debate I guess) and the ability to not hide half your catalogue because it wasn't filled to the brim with live action shit
>>88786816
> Some people just want to watch the world burn
That was a nice summer.
>>88787308
Well, there was no concept of a general, so Avatar threads were everywhere. They spiked mostly when a new episode came out, but for the most part, it was just waifu threads and the like. Not that there is a problem with that, only modern nu/co/ has this tumblr-mandated mantra of shaming people for finding 2D girls attractive. Hell, you could spoiler porn back then and it usually wouldn't get deleted.
But despite what >>88786816 might tell you, there was generally a more diverse selection of cartoons to choose from. Capeshit and CalArt's mass produced trash hadn't completely taken over the board yet, there were still a wide variety of popular cartoons like Symbiotic Titan, Foster's Home, FOP and Spongebob hadn't fallen out of favor, Chowder, Flapjack, EEnE, and discussion of long-ended classics like Hey Arnold, Courage, Dexter's lab, Johnny Bravo and others still sprung up more often than it does now.
Once cancers like Adventure Time and Homestuck showed up, this board really started going downhill. Redwood/Henchouse becoming this board's appointed mod-governor pretty much spelled the end of /co/'s golden age.
>>88787759
>shaming people for finding 2D girls attractive
But why? There's nothing wrong with that.
>>88787759
>>88788219
>shaming people for finding 2D girls attractive
yes there i you fucking faggots this is why /a/ is absolute shit i dont care about how attractive the fucking graphite marks are I care about the story you fucking faggots I wouldn't bat an eye if the characters were fucking pringles cans as long as the story is compelling
>>88788443
>finding the characters attractive means you don't care about the story
fuck off you pretentious cunt
Meme show.
>>88789348
go to /a/ the granddaddy of waifu shit they like any shit story as long as it has fan service or a pretty face
>>88788443
>>88790153
Stop coming here, faggot.
>>88790248
/a/ is just the supreme example of waifu shit thats why I avoid it
>>88786157
