Trolls was okay. More people should've watched it.
>>
>>88752469
Yeah my sister wanted to see it so we went together and I found myself enjoying it.
The movie wasn't anything special but it was fun and the music worked well in the story
>>
>>88752469
This desu, it was far better than I expected

Shouldn't have wrote it off so quickly
>>
>>88752469
The ads were terrible tho, and only made sense once you watched the movie.
>>
>>88752534
Yeah the ads for the movie were pretty bad, however I don't really know how you make ads for a movie of this nature that will make it look appealing

Really the ads should have been one or two of the music videos, that would have been a great way to promote this movie

Does anyone remember the name of the first song in the movie? The one Poppy sings right before the big party?
>>
>>88752623
This sequence was fucking great. It really communicates how absurdly dangerous the troll world is.

There's like five instances of vore in that one scene.

ovposition too, or whatever it's called.

Oh yeah it really builds on the absurd world of Trolls quite well while giving an idea of the characters drive

Could it support a Netflix cartoon?
It seems like they are mostly free to give whatever they want a cartoon, but maybe Home already has the episodic comedy with original songs by a replacement singer voice actor niche covered.
>>
>>88753056
I really hated this movie but I have to hand it to Josh Gad for giving a really good performance.
>>
>>88753378
I think so. I guess the movie footage corresponding to this song is not online?
>>
>>88753425
That Home cartoon is actually really good, along with King Julien.
>>
>>88753517
I wasn't able to find the movie footage with it sorry, I tried because I know it would have helped much better

>>88753425
I think Trolls could support an episodic format. Where the movie leaves off leaves a good area to work from for a series to start off on
>>
>>88753425
>have a show call Trolls while you have another show called Trollhunters
>>
>>88752415
I really wanted to see this movie for branch, he seemed really interesting as this kind of grumpy doomsday prep-er kind of guy
But I heard he gets that personality kind of stripped because he has to "learn to be happy/nice/love"
How much of that is true, and if it is, how much of his personality is intact at the end of the movie?
>>
>>88753652
I wonder if we would get a crossover episode?
>>
>>88753655
He has a reason for being as grouchy and overly prepared as he is, it's part of his back story.

They work in the way he becomes up beat nicely into the story, but it bit quick. His character still feels like Birch, but there is no denying that he is pretty much along the same tune as everyone else by the end of the movie
>>
>>88753547
Yeah, its a lot better than the shitty movie. Dare I say it, it sense of humor works a lot better in a calarts style
>>
>>88753655
Most of it, he just stops being as grumpy by the end. And it's a fairly smooth transition with proper character development. In fact, Poppy picks up some of his mannerisms by the end.

The thing I dislike by far is the lack of quality merch for this movie. The toys are absolutely awful. I would have much rather they designed the toys by the scrapbook designs they used in the film, but they decided to go with weird potato faces instead.
>>
I wonder if the Blue Troll was ever forced to meet the guy who ate his Grandma.
>>
>>88765370

Plus they are smooth plastic, while movie ones look like living felt.

still an improvement over these originals with creepy stares.
>>
>>88765544
You're right on all counts. What I find most surprising is that I haven't seen any monster that was shown in the movie be made into a plush or equivalent. You'd think that they would at least make a big version of that worm thing that gay Troll carries around all the time, but they haven't at all from what I've seen.

That being said, I liked that moment in the film where they showed the decoy wooden Trolls. That was a pretty nice way of letting the audience know they understand that the original still exists.
>>
>>88765734

I always thought they were always made of rubber, then I read originally they were made of wood, another sweet story: "father couldn't find a toy for his kid, so he made one and it became a toy hit"
>>
>>88765973
Yeah, the story of how they came to be is really sweet. It's just a shame how creepy they look. I guess it's one of those so ugly it's cute situations, athough I really do prefer the Dreamworks design.

Those do look pretty decent, I might make a trip to the store and see if I can manage to find these. I'm hoping that the Branch variants' you mentioned are his before and after looks, because it seems most merch is his after appearance, usually with a big ol' grin to boot.

Apparently they selling (sold?) a line where they're just figurines, and from what two pictures I've seen, they seem to be good quality. Apparently they even have Bridget in her scullery maid uniform. No idea where or if they're still selling these in stores though.
