What's the best romance between two characters that doesn't feel forced to you?

>feel forced
I'm sick of this meme criticism

It's a legitimate issue. If you've ever watch Arrow, it's the entire Olicity schtick. It's tiring to watch two characters with no chemistry get forced into a relationship.

>Implying contrivance is a meme.
>Implying relationships that appear out of the blue don't literally feel forced.

Best bickering couple.
Dick and Babs. Once Chuck Dixon started writing Nightwing, their relationship became something really genuine.
That said, there aren't a lot of great western romances because the romance genre has been dead for years. My girlfriend reads a lot of shojo/josei mangas (as well as western comics) and has explained the difference between reading something FOR romance versus stuff that just happens to HAVE romance. She likes loves stories as much as she likes action. Maybe the comics industry wouldn't be struggling so much if they hadn't dropped women as a demographic decades ago and just published some damn romance comics that weren't jokes like Weird Love.

Shoujo is almost all terrible at romance though.

Whats the best one at handling romance then?

Me too. There's no such thing as something "being forced" in a story, it's just a shitty excuse to complain about something /co/ doesn't like. Grow the fuck up and accept that maybe your tastes aren't the same as other people and that you're just being autistic.

That's like asking "Which genre does action best?" Some genres focus on it more than others, but it's more a matter of individual cases than an entire group.

ever watch any story ever told? The characters dont have a say in the matter of what the writer wants them to do

Poetry is the best ofc. But barring that cause it's a little unfair to count that novels are the best form for that. Words without pictures give a more personal feel, you get into the headspace of the character more. It also seems to be easier to make it seem less forced cause you can explore that characters thoughts and feelings more.
That said, romance as a genre in /lit/ has been a cancer for a long time that is only growing worse with self publishing. Maybe cause it is the best medium to create that story, or many cause it is just easy.
I do think some of Sejic's stuff outside Soulstone does a good job of doing romance. Angelus was good .... and hot

So you like it when it goes slowly and progress with story plot? Examples?
