Near the end of the run she fully repairs her friendship with Kitty, who acts as a go-between to get her and Colossus back together in the final issue, Uncanny #600.

Illyana is one of the last members to benefit from the dimming X-Men characterization depth that Wein/Cockrum and Byrne/Claremont brought to the book.

I love that Nightcrawler's teleportation was fleshed out and had an internal logic to it, with logical ramifications and limitations. I love that you had a mutant who looked like a demon who was light-hearted and a devote catholic. I loved that we saw he had a fondness for swashbucking films and emulated his idol Errol Flynn. He has a colorful backstory and origin that goes beyond "my mutant powers kicked in at puberty" like most x-characters.

Take just about any new character introduced in the past 20 years and they won't come close to the characterization present in Kurt. This is why the x-comics were top-sellers for decades, and as new writers came in they didn't retain the same depth, if anything they were merely coasting on their predecessor's accomplishments, writing little more than x-fanfic.

There are two obvious problems about Wolverine.
