Been having fun, the open worlds in the game are so satisfying to explore. About to go pick up a bunch of the Series 1 figures at my local Five Below.

One of my gripes with the game is the segmented release schedual of the figures.
For example, there are some collectables in the game that can only be gotten with the figure that has both 'vent-entry' and 'light' ability. Said figure (Slimer) wasn't released until over 6 months after the release of the game.

The figures are just regular minifigures and the builds are just made out of regular bricks, plates and all that shit.

It's also bad as far as lego games go. It's combat is worse than most lego cape games with no counters, grapples or finishers and almost every puzzle revolves around moving the pieces on the toybase. Which is obnoxious as fuck.

it's honestly a 10/10 concept, but 20 dollars for a few minikits and a 40-60 minute long level is ridiculous. The open worlds that some of them add are incredibly small and empty, too.

One of the rebuild locations is at Godric's Hollow to rebuild the Potter Memorial Statue. For those who don't know, in-universe the statue shape shifts depending on if a Muggle or a Wizard is looking at it. Muggles see an Obelisk while Wizards see a statue of James and Lilly Potter (It's also explained in-game as you rebuild it)
This also happens in-game, if you approach with say Finn, it turns into the obelisk, and naturally if you approach with Harry or Voldemort it reveals it's true form. But what I discovered is that both Gandalf and the Wicked Witch can see the statue's true form being magic users.
Its little details like this that make me love this game

Even though I don't like what Lego did with Amy's legs.

Marvel and Star Wars were unlikely not because of WB, there ARE Lego Star Wars and Marvel games. It was because of Disney Infinity. They were hardly going to have their "buy the figure, play the character" game compete with its own characters in another "buy the figure, play the character".

Infinity as a figure based game is kaput, however it still exists to a certain degree. You can even buy it on Steam. You just don't need the figures anymore. Whether this is a condition that will allow them to offer those characters in Dimensions, well, time will tell. For what it is worth I still see the figures being replaced on the store shelves, though often at reduced price

For those of you looking at a cheaper entry point for the game, its on sale now for around $30. Five Below stores have Bad Cop and Benny from Lego Movie, Gimli and Legolas from LotR, and some fucks from Ninjago and Chima. Sometimes stores like Target will have similar sales, Walmart had some on sale for closer to $9, but $5 is rock bottom even if you don't have the game.

To build the vehicle you have to use in game instructions but you can find the videos on YouTube.
