So, I'm not sure the context, but someone on /co/ mentioned this book a few months ago. It seriously caught my attention and I was going to get it for my FWB before Amazon was totally sold out of copies (I got her Blackest Night instead, which she's very happy with). Just the same, I was curious about giving it a read, and promised to storytime it if anyone had a link, so...here we go.

Forewarned is forearmed, though: I haven't actually read this. Aside from the gorgeous art, and what I know from the Ring Cycle, I am totally clueless about this book. I don't know if the writing is any good. So, we'll be finding out together!

Thanks OP.

Alex Alice made an animated trailer as a proof of concept to try and get this made into a movie.
>>88686957
Nigga, the third one's already out, it's just not in English.
>>88686973
>>88686984
really?
will have to look harder for it then. I just keep seeing things saying November 2017, but I guess that might be the American release.

It's one of the most beautiful comics I've had the chance to read in a while. The pacing of the story is very well done. And I absolute love it when Wodin holds down the Sun just so that Brunhilda can come back in time. Just gives that truly [all]-'fatherly' feeling to him. Fathers will do anything for their children.

Hard to go wrong with this art and the classics: like that gorgeous Beowulf book. Not that I'd mind a comic of a more uh ~comics~ interpretation like Bloodtide.
>>88688654
>>88688667
For some reason, I don't mind more interpretive versions of stuff like Beowulf, but when it comes to the Ring Cycle, it just has to be done classical and baroque.
Like, I would love to see a Mad Max-esque Beowulf, but not this.

That trailer is gorgeous.
>>88686988
Wow
>>88688708
I suppose Beowulf is a simpler story, so it's easier to move around the setpieces without greatly affecting the feel of it.
Great storytime OP.
>>88690588
Right. It's a very simple hero's journey with a cautionary note at the end. The Ring Cycle is, however, fucking Ragnarok. So...
>>88690987
Yep. Also another problem (I have) with adaptations is like, if you choose to shift/modernize the The Ring you are aiming so fucking high. Not only because of the scope as you say, but you have to look at Wagner's whole thing and actually think "Okay by doing this and losing everything I lose by doing it it's still going to be worth it and impressive by itself at the end".
So I think adaptations of individual parts are more likely to be successful. And for any of these things it's not like you ever run out of questions to ask the original work, so it can pretty much be adapted straight endlessly.
Thanks OP

That is some gorgeous art indeed.
I'm still pissed there's no full movie for that trailer though. The combination of images and music gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.

Mediafire link?

>>88689497
Goddamn I gotta get a physical copy of this. Thanks OP!
What I want to know is, how much of this is the creation of Wagner and how much of it is from the original Norse mythology.
His latest series "Castle in the Stars" was licensed and will be out in September 2017.
buy,support,etc

There are two other comics by the way, although I think only one other part is available to download.
>>88696355
Huh so it is getting a translation, neat !I hope they will put more references to 2001: Space Odyssey or other books of Clarke
