The problem with the WoW comics were;

A. They let the writer have free reign and let it be wrote like a Shonen Manga with a bullshit, mary sue protagonist.

B. They took in-game events already established, and butchered them while including new characters. EG: Onyxia's quest chain became Varian being split into two people and killing her instead of Adventurers unravelling her schemes. Naxxramas was raided by Darion Morgraine who was desperate to free his father and not a coalition trying to curb the threat of the Scourge etc.

The better question is why would anyone care? They're horrible comics. They've time and time again fucked up by trying to make big backstories for all the characters, but then they put them in lazy, simple plots with bland character interaction. They're all so safe and predictable, same with their films. Each one focuses on trying to show you the characters' personalities and it turns out that they're all pretty generic. The only one that was slightly enjoyable was Junkrat/Roadhog, and even then, it was still exactly what'd you would expect.

Tracer's is still mindboggling because it's a Christmas comic, but they still labeled it "Tracer" instead of Christmas or anything. But then again, if it wasn't for the "tracer's gay" page, there'd literally be no substance to reading the comic at all.

The WoW comic didn't make bank, and it came out during peak WoW.

Also, while the art is usually good, for some reason the WoW comic had UNUSUALLY shitty writing for the dialogue. Like, the plot was decent. But the characters were talking like they were trying to explain their actions to an 8 year old or younger.

Jokes aside about "hurr durr wow is for children", the writing was really fucking strange. Like if someone had a knife thrown at them, they'd be all "Oh no, a knife might hit me and cause me to die!"
