Yep. Cyclops killed him in the climax of Ultimatum. Then in the end of Ultimatum, Quicksilver killed Cyclops and after Ultimatum, the US Government well all in on the Sentinel program to round up every single mutant they could and throw them into concentration camps.

That was, until Master Mold decided it wasn't happy with only watching/capturing mutants so it decided to take over a chunk of the US for itself.

I'll give post-Ultimatum Ultimate Comics this, their Ultimate Civil War had a pretty solid premise. The country gets destabilized after Reed blows up Washington DC, leading to the US splintering into different factions.

It was just the right kind of stupid that I expect out of comics.
