As for psychics, they're pretty rare. I can only think of maybe eight (6 of which are X-Men) that exist in the MU, so I don't know why the military would bother training their soldiers to combat such a small number of people (most of which are heroes who have saved Earth multiple times).

Either way, I would be fine with the idea of Army Rangers being trained to resist psychic bullshit if wasn't introduced in one of the worst comics being published right now. It's only brought up so Edgelord McGee can have wacky adventures as Venom with none of the conflict that comes with being bonded to an alien (besides it making him throw up in front of his future boss).

As for Agent Venom, it had some of the higest sales numbers and was on-going for 40+ issues. If Bendis didn't shit all over it, it probably would've gone on long enough to match up to Eddie's trades. I'm a long time fan of Venom, and I wanted to say that the original Agent Venom run is one of the best Venom runs in a long, long time. Whenever Venom is interesting it's good. Some of the earlier Brock runs were good, some of Gargan's struggle during Dark Reign, and even that time they ripped off The Thing (Although the miniseries got stale real quick once Wolvie showed up).

Didn't enjoy the Space Knight bit at all, nor do I like this run so far but that's mainly due to all the mischaracterization piled upon retcons piled upon mischaracterizations, which isn't exactly the writer's fault either.

That said I don't understand the Brock worship. I liked Brock, past tense, but he was at his best during Anti-Venom. I haven't really enjoyed him during Carnage, and a lot of more modern stories featuring him - including pre-Anti-Venom - are just bad. The further out from Lethal Protector the worse he is, with a few notable exceptions.

The truth of the matter is Venom is character that can be written extremely well or extremely bad as well as very "on model" and very "off". Ultimately it really depends on the writer, and we'll have to accept on some level we'll never get the host we deserve and that the only constant is that the symbiote evolves.

Don't get me wrong, it could've been alright, and the early issues were basically what first appearance agent venom was, but in space.

Problem was there was stilla ton of growth to be had on earth, and instead of this being a spin-off title or soemthing, it was just the way things were now. The fact that it only got 12 issues and that he was only used in two issues for GOTGshould say how wwell he was recieved.

There's no reason why Agent Venom couldn't have gone to space, but the way it was done was terrible, and the new design was terrible.
