Superman - Front and Centre, finds the core of the threat and wades in. Huge variety in powers that are useful in a lot of disaster situations, especially his sensory abilities.

Supergirl - same as above.

Wonder Woman - Field commander (and write her to be a tactical (not strategic) prodigy), off Tank, duelist.

Green Lantern - Locks down mooks if they are there in numbers, saves civies. Lantern rings are great for dealing with trapped and endangered soft targets.

Flash - Harasses flanks, emergency evac and support. Uses his speed to pull the a leaguer back if they are caught of guard.

Zatanna - Taxi, wildcard, healer, incredibly versatile, IMO probably the best general "hero" out there. She can deal with so many situations, but is a glass cannon and would need Shepherding by GL or WW.

Lex Luthor - Tech wizard, should hang back and watch for the most part and look beyond the immediate fight.

Batman - Ignores the fight and goes strait to asking the who, why, how etc.

Batman as a whole works better alone. With such a great character like Mr. Terrific you get both the diversity people want and a reasonable enough arsenal of weapons and machines to make him good but not too overpowered as a JLA member.

Mentor to everyone on the team. He's the tough uncle everybody loves and for damn good reasons. He's always been much more creative with his ring than the Green Lantern Corps, and this keeps an excellent power distanced from that can of worms.

Got your dude for Ayy Lmao threats and the like without Hal needing to be around. Excellent for arcs about the human condition and fitting in.

Great for political and oceanic issues.

Billy being the newer superhero of the group, he's the student learning to control his powers better and learn how justice and morality works.

>The Question
Eyes on the ground and cryptologist. The best choice for how the JLA deals with problems on Earth, with arcs about drug dealers, nigger skinners, etc.

>Martian Manhunter: Leader, philosopher, range of powers, a real nigga. Brings a truly international viewpoint to the league.
>Kenan Kong: Hotheaded, immature womanizing bully but people still love him. Bit of a wildcard, constantly at odds with the Chinese government he represents. Imagine Guy Gardner with less bravado, more heart, and (situationally) a LOT more power.
>Rocket Red: A grizzeled old Russian soldier coming to terms with taking a fair place in the league. Secretly loves tasting the food of other cultures.
>Blue Beetle & Booster Gold: Ted Kord and his buddy Booster are here for fun and fortune. Jaime can come too sometimes.
>Green Arrow & Black Canary: Always looking out for the little guy. When Ollie starts to drift, Canary brings things back into focus.
>Aquaman: 70% of the word and shit

BONUS: MY INJUSTICE LEAGUE.

Lex Luthor, for cynicism. It's not a matter of IF Superman will go rogue, it's when. Lex, in his own bitter paranoia, can't imagine a good man existing.
Joker, for chaos. Batman makes sure that everyone answers for their crimes, while Joker flouts that ideal, mocking the idea of everything Batman holds dear.
Dr. Psycho, for hate. A man whose broken heart grew back knotted, warped, and cruel, and now can only feel contempt for everyone and everything.
King Shark, for the cruel and merciless side of nature, red in tooth and claw.
I don't know enough about Zatanna and Green Arrow's villains, but I know that Green Arrow's villain would be a total conman and demagogue, who has no problem saying and doing whatever it takes to get what he or she wants.

OG Justice League has mysteriously vanished, these seven now pick up where they left off.
