This movie was about heroin telling junkies they don't need heroin.
>>
If a heroin junkie quits doing heroin, they will likely die from withdrawl, so they actually do need it
>>
No that movie is about selling toys and shitty pop-songs to children.
>>
>>88413534
Has the same plot as everything that doesn't sell toys, stop acting high and mighty about crap made for little kids
>>
i liked it
>>
Top notch art direction, decent Cinderella parody, generic plot, will rewatch.

I still can't find my happy place though
>>
Basically neo-fascist propaganda.
>>
This movie barely got discussed on this board and I can see why. Just another typical rancid DreamWorks offering.

When have they ever been good? Shrek 1 and 2?
>>
>>88415301
Better than Modern Pixar
>>
>>88415301

KFP and HTTYD are their best movies.

Now that Disney copied their style and is making their own franchises they have nothing to offer.
>>
I saw this with my wife's son, and I was annoyed that the plot implied every generation of cute little lovable trolls prior to the ones we follow were eaten by the ogres. Yes, these guys got away, but everyone else got eaten. Hell of a thing for a kids movie these days.

>>
>>88413514
Heroin withdrawal is not usually fatal. At least it is much less so than withdrawal from alcohol or benzos.
>>
>>88413479

Not really, it'd only be comparable if Heroin users going cold turkey wasn't painful or hard in the least, and if there was a way to naturally get the feeling of being on heroin that they just didn't know they could do.

Crap analogy, OP.

On the other hand, Disney Animation Studios has been pretty great lately.
>>
>>88416540
got that the wrong way around, sport
>>
>>88416899

do you know WHY Disney got so good while Pixar is so-so ?
>>
>>88416978
Yeah, because a lot of Pixar's talent went to DAS.
>>
>>88416996

This does NOT make me happy, and it shouldn't you. Now that borg is satisfied it's going to rest on its (stolen) laurs.
>>
>>88417045
Eh, I don't really care. DAS is like the neo-Pixar now. Sorry if that sounds too haram, I'm just glad that they're making good movies either way.

Likewise, Pixar has definitely had some misfires the past few years with sequels but I think they're still capable of putting out great films.

I am too old for this site.
>>
>>88417119
Same.
Monsters University is the only out right embarrassment they've made.
Unless there's some horrible movie that I completely blanked out on because it's so bad.
>>
>>88417207
>>88417119

you'll sing differently after Cars 3 and TS4.
>>
Trolls was on the same level as Antz. It wasn't bad by any means, but not great. At least the leads were actually likable.
>>
The best scene was the gag with the dead clown
>>
>>88417357

> Same level as Antz

I don't know, it wasn't THAT mediocre.

I mean, shit, I don't even remember what happened in Antz it was so boring.
>>
>>88417417
>Antz
>not goodtier
>>
>>88417417
Antz is often considered one of the better "bad" DW movies. Better than Shark Tale, at least.
>>88417360
Branch killed a man, and that's hilarious.
>>
>>88417458
>interrupted a funeral
>knocks over casket and dead body in front of wife

Also is the implication that the husband died young, for extra tragedy
>>
The Sounds of Silence scene was one of the best in the movie, as well as True Colors, because goddamn if JT's voice isn't angelic.
>>
>>88417420
>>88417458

Hey, if you two got anything positive out of the movie, props to you, but for me, and basically anyone I knew who had seen the movie, it was just a more boring and more crappy looking "Bugs Life", not that bugs life was much good either though.
>>
>>88417558
I always vastly preferred it to Bugs Life.
Couldn't stand that annoying Flip and those "CIRCUS BUGS? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU WERE CIRCUS BUGS?!"

Hated that fucking movie.

Antz was more interesting. Termite War scene and all.
>>
>>88417598

They were both meh, but as a kid I enjoyed Bugs Life more, don't know why.

Hell, I remember the ads for Antz more than the movie itself.
>>
>>88417691
I just found the plot of A Bug's Life and the characters way too irritating.

I actually remember so much about Antz.
The War General played by Gene Hackman was fun. The Bee whose wife was murdered was really sad etc.
>>
>>88417691

now i remember Bee movie was a fucking rehash of Antz.
>>
>>88417747
>now i remember Bee movie was a fucking rehash of Antz.

In no way other than "jewish comedian movie about insects"
>>
>>88417357
Trolls had some innovative animation techniques and great musical direction which puts it way above Woody Allen as an ant.
>>
>>88417774
This. The fact that literally everything in the film had a cloth-like texture, as well as the hair animation, made it a technical marvel.
>>
>>88417847
Is there a decent rip out?
Now I'm interested.
>>
>>88413479

Only problem with the movie for me was the little girl bergen and her love story shit, I know it was pretty central to the climax of the movie and everything, but she was just so unlikable.

it just looks so colorful.. get some better writers, guys. I dont want to live in disneyformula-ted world.
>>
>>88417960
I found Bridget pretty likable, and the writers managing to make a Cinderella subplot actually move the plot along was nice.
>>88417860
Most of the rips right now are too dark. Some people on tumblr have managed to get good rips of certain scenes, but not of the whole film.
>>
I fully expect a Netflix series sometime next year. And honestly, it'd probably be good.

I was grinning like an idiot after that.
>>
Poppy and Branch were cute. Opposites attract is one of the best relationships in media.
>>
>>88419735

yeah the banter is always great between such characters.
>>
The problem with modern Pixar is that they switched roles with DAS. Now they're the ones playing it safe with boring film ideas or pumping out sequels while DAS keeps making new stuff

except Gigantic all i hear only about sequels for WiR(confirmed) , Frozen(confirmed) and Zootopia (rumours).

Disney just sucks creativity out of others for profit.
>>
>>88421208
What did you expect? They're part of the Mouse. D*sney kills anything it touches and renders its corpse down into bland, inoffensive, marketable slop.
>Pixar
>Marvel
>Star Wars
>>
>>88421465

after that adventure with Zootopia i dont feel like watching anything new, nothing but remakes, sequels, franchises. as if something just ended. Audience dont know it yet, but we do.
>>
>The Snack Pack continuing to sing Total Eclipse of the Heart after Branch reveals his backstory.
Seemed a little harsh.
>>
>>88417996
I love how even Bergen Town has felt-like quality.
>>
>>88417996
I liked the story okay, the only weak part was that the lovingly designed troll secondary characters didn't mean shit and they probably should've went with their original secondary villain.

Like if DW made a follow up show I'd watch it.
>>
>>88421392
A Zootopia sequel'd be fine, that was a whole freaking setting they sold.
>>
>>88422451
Trolls are sort of like fraggles, I think, in that they sing their feelings. Its why Branch not singing at all was so weird and fucked up to the other trolls-finishing the song in a low, mourning tone was reaching out to him instead of mocking him.
>>
>>88417207
I liked Monsters University.
>>
>>88418229
Anyone have a PDF of this artbook, or a good scan of it? I only want to see this movie for the visuals and I'm waiting until it gets released digitally. That art direction for the movie is great, on top of them redesigning the trolls to actually be cute.
>>
>>88416908

I see Ainslinger got to you too.

http://americanaddictioncenters.org/withdrawal-timelines-treatments/risk-of-death/

Alcohol and bonzos are the only drugs with fatal withdrawal symptoms. Heroin withdrawal, while not fun, will not kill you.
>>
>>88415783
... why were you annoyed by that?

And I thought the whole thing was already spoiled.
Context really helps the scene, knowing that this was that part from the trailer didn't hinder it any.

Back when they did 2D still. Prince of Egypt, El Dorado, Sinbad, even Spirit. All beautiful films.
