I couldn't find a video, but this story gets me every time: In the Invader Zim episode A Room With a Moose, there is about a 3-second shot of a handful of walnuts being ejected from a bus into space. The walnuts were CG, and this 3-second shot of CG walnuts completely killed their budget for that season. They didn't ask for the walnuts to be CG. They just got them that way. Vasquez had planned for an awesome space battle in the season finale, but couldn't, because of the walnuts.
