LET'S GO!
Warning you right now, I may fall asleep. If I do I will leave off where I was tomorrow when I get home from work
One of my favorite runs. Dunno why this Illuminati book was titled New Avengers though.
>>88303977Money
>>88303977
Because Bendis's made them in the first new avengers run, and even kept the title as new avengers for the minis.
>>88303851
Good to see you again. Thanks for the storytime.
>>88304042
Thanks, you're welcome Anon

This run was really awesome until Original Sin and Steve becoming an retarderd
>>88304347
Yes yes
Issue three was amazeballs
>>88304525
The "everything lives" speech later was so hype inducing.
>>88304584
Oh yeah.
How far you taking this OP?
>>88304601
Tonight? Issue #6 of Avengers. Overall? All of it. All of Infinity and all of Secret Wars. For real this time
>>88304671
Neat.
>>88304762The part with the helmet dudes was absurdly dumb. Why was Strange reduced to muh plot device bros?
>>88304686
>The table wasn't cracked before
>>88304837
>Black Bolt cracked the table
Tony's armor during this time was great. Fuck that dumbass space suit
>>88304762
>>88304781I don't recall these scenes actually happening in the series. Am I wrong?
>>88304883
Why put the "previously" pages in? They don't add anything,
>>88304181
Black Swan is still a thing? I thought she would be a Cannon fodder character like Ex nihilo and abyss..
>>88304813
People haven't known how to write Dr. Strange for a long time. I think it started with Bendis in New Avengers, then WWH and it just kinda spiraled from there.
>>88304915
Yep, she's canon fodder now
>>88304905
Some people rip the comics from storytimes and like having them in there. I was yelled at previously for not including them
>>88304985
Fair enough.
>>88305027
>doesn't finish with stars and garters
HICKMAN YOU HACK!
>>88303851
Are you doing all of this? Are you really? This is amazing. This is spectacular! This is MULTIVERSAL EVENT! How far are you going? ARE YOU GOING TO SECRET WAR! What can I do to encourage you to go to Secret War? What do I gotta post? Whose dick do I gotta suck?
>>88305047
Read the thread woo
>>88305047
I am doing all of Hickman's run, all of Infinity, and all of Secret Wars. You can suck mine if you really want to though.Full homo
>>88304915
The solits for unworthy Thor say her and proxima show up
>>88305106
>posting in another thread while doing a storytime
At least take your name offlike I did in Smallville
>>88305158
dat 4chan elite club doe
>>88305158
Totally spaced on it. I just got really really excited when I saw that someone was posting Hickman's run and had to post. If I can find the time I'd like to also post SHIELD and Secret Warriors to compliment your thread.
>>88305109
Are you doing Hickman's other Avengers titles too?
>>88305214
Really disappointed Infinity wasn't about Thanos coming back to open a can of whupasson the chumps that broke his favorite fashion accessory
All the space stuff and Illuminati stuff was cool, but Thanos felt majorly tacked on.
Still the best event Marvel has put out in a LONG time.
I hope the warcrime shitposter shows up.
>>88305239
Originally I had already storytimed through all that and had started Avengers, then life happened and I had to quit.
>>88305263
Other? I only know of the two, but I was going to throw World into this too
>>88305288
>Other? I only know of the two, but I was going to throw World into this too
I don't know what all tied into his grand storyline so I just said "other" to cover my bases. Was primarily thinking of New Avengers and regular Avengers.
>>88305356
>Are you seriously asking a mutant what he's prepared to do to stave off extinction?
I'd like to point out that Cyclops was trying to stave off extinction and SOMEONE was upset about that.
Should be able to fit #1-6 in the thread and then I'm calling it a night.
>>88305356
Beast was WRONG
>>88305420
These first three issues of Avengers were really incredible. One of the best arcs I've read.
It's a shame it ended up being mostly dull outside of Infinity.
>>88305507
And then the charts happened
>>88305537
kek
>>88305809
muh dick
>>88305809
This is a retelling of an older marvel story right? was it as strong as it looks from this retelling? I assume it was some big event where all the normal avengers were down and out and they had to call a bunch of heroes up, going off that last shot. that accurate?
>>88305458
I find the all of Hickman's stuff reads better upon subsequent re-reads and I found most of his run better than I remember.
>>88305869
It wasn't a retelling
>>88305916
oh, interesting, it has that feel of older stories to it, cool that hickman can make a story that feels like an old classic.
>>88305899
I've reread Secret Warriors about 4 times now, and it's gotten progressively less great each time. Wheels Within Wheels is the worst kind of asspull. Every time I read any FF (specifically FF), it always kinda sucks (at least the costumes are GOAT)
New Avengers has remained really good, up until muh hero vs hero stuff. Avengers really felt like a side-project.
There are a handful of really solid issues though. The Smasher one always stands out in my mind.
Like I said, Infinity was cool. The Time Runs out stuff with Thor and Hyperion was awesome as well.
>>88306014
Oh the Canada site issues were cool, even if, and correct me if I'm wrong, nothing ever came of them.
>>88305264
>Really disappointed Infinity wasn't about Thanos coming back to open a can of whupasson the chumps that broke his favorite fashion accessory
That would've been great
>>88306183
Like, hunting down the Illuminati one by one, before setting a nice trap for the chief offender only to get outfuckingplayed by the illuminati.
Instead we got...Thane.
Eh?
It didn't like me posting the chart again
>>88306239
Yeah Thane and the Builders (Makers?). I actually thought having Marvel Cosmic becoming the space Avengers to stop them was pretty neat though.
But Thane was just... Thane
Disappointment abound.
But thanks for doing this Ulti-Mate.
>>88306333
You're welcome anon
>>88303851
Wait are you the guy who said he would do this about 8 months ago?
I didn't think you would deliver. Does that mean I still have to do Illuminated after you finish?
>>88306507
>Illuminated
I don't remember what that is. The parody right?
>>88306530
Yes.
I saved all 1,194 pages.
But I'll only do Illuminated War if SW is also part of this story time.
>>88305420
>>88303851
Compared to New Avengers, I felt Avengers definitely had a better intro, especially if you were new to reading about them.
Im gonna buy the Hickman Avengers omnibus when it comes out next year
>>88306623
>>88304671
>>88305109
>>88307279
This issue was meh
>>88307396
Is he SpOck here?
>>88307260
The "letters pages" for these books were so depressing, they were the exact same thing in both books and sometimes they were repeated for two or three months
Plus Brevoort never really responds when he edits a letters page, you're very lucky if you get more then one sentence
>>88307477
Think so.
>>88307477
Yeah, he was kicked out of the avengers in his own book a couple months after
>>88307610
>>88307622
>>88307629
>>88307641
>>88307654
What the fuck is this
More tomorrow, thanks for reading.
>>88307724
Insert pages from the floppies.
>>88307754
>dat #4 variant
What's some /essesntialkeown/ core?
>>88306033
By god, don't you miss when the Avengers could come together and build a Quinjet in an afternoon? The absurdity of this page is something.
>>88307728
That's a neat Ribic cover.
>>88307761
