No, I've never played it and have no clue what it is. This isn't like a deckbuilding game is it? I hate deckbuilding.

Has anyone ever run a decent DCU RPG? If so what rulesets did you use Any of the official stuff worth anything at all?

It was just a quarriors ruined by a ccg model.

I've a friend who's super into it, so I played the AvX set a few times with her just to see what it was about. Before that, I played it at a board games meetup with the group's resident That Guy, but his way of explaining the rules was basically "Okay, now you do that thing, then you do that thing, now we roll dice again!"

I spent most of it copying his strategy, and at the end he went "Yeah, we weren't really playing it properly..."

Never played a real game, though. I remember being hyped over getting Dr Doom's character card.

I play the Green Lantern set and I quite like it. I think the attacking and defending aspect could use some retooling, but I enjoy some of the teams and combos you can build.

Green Lantern + Carol being the stand out. Just sitting and chipping with 4 basically indestructible Carol's is hilarious.

Same, I remember it came out when I was a kid and the miniatures looked cool, but it was expensive as fuck and I already had crippling comic book and MTG habits.

This game is fun as fuck, my only problem is that there's no set rotation, so all the broken cards from the first set still see play.

Also, when one of your guys die, you get it back next turn, but if they attack the opponent, they die and go to your used pile. That is the most backwards logic I've ever seen.

Actually rotation will start to run the next year and the first set to be left out is the AvX set following the Uncanny Xmen set

On a completely unrelated note, I should play my copy of this sometime...

Nope, I'm currently trying to build a campaign with 5th edition, I may add in some random cape or cartoon characters for the party to run into along the way though.
