http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/12/04/bleeding-cool-bestseller-list-4th-december-2016-dc-still-dominates-on-fifth-week/

This is the Top Ten Bleeding Cool Bestseller List, as compiled by a number of comic stores from their sales on Wednesday and Thursday. It measures what are known as the “Wednesday Warriors”, those who can’t wait to the weekend to get this week’s comics. We salute you, and the keenness you bring to your passion.

This week was a “fifth week” for DC Comics where they usually schedule odds and sods – annuals, one shots, late titles, anthologies and the like, something that usually sees Marvel dominate sales. Not now…

1. Batman Annual #1
2. Superman Annual #1
3. Suicide Squad #7
4. Star Wars Annual #2
5. IVX #0
6. Saga #40
7. Ghost Rider #1
8. Seven To Eternity #3
9. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #9
10. Justice League Of America #10

Thanks to the following retailers,

Rodman Comics of Ankeny, Iowa
Issues Needed Comics, Apple Valley, Minnesota
Dr. No’s Comics & Games Superstore of Marietta, Georgia
Yesteryear Comics of San Diego, California
Fat Jack’s Comicrypt of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Famous Faces & Funnies of West Melbourne, Florida.
G-Mart Comic Books– Champaign, IL
Jesse James Comics – Glendale, Arizona
Graham Crackers Comics – Now 11 locations in the mid-west

Who had this to say,

"Marvel finally found a way to take four spots in our store’s Top Ten: convince DC to publish only three Rebirth books. The empty space in the Top Ten was filled by Marvel (with four books), Valiant, Image, and Dark Horse (with one book each)."

"Starting to see an increase in interest in Silver and Bronze Age Justice League…"

"Nice small week for books. A nice breather before the holidays start to kick in.Ghost Rider was #1, but the Bat almost took it from Marvel. if it had two covers then it would have been easy street."

'X-Men, X-Men and more X-Men are selling. Having to re-stock 100-150 back issue a week….sweet."

>5. IVX #0
I bought it for the art.

"I thought this week would be a clear victory for Marvel with only a few DC annuals out this week. But we still only saw IVX 0 at number five and Extraordinary X-Men 16 at number nine in our store. Our top ten was Batman Annual, Superman Annual, Saga, Injustice Annual, IVX, JLA, Suicide Squad, Power Rangers, Extraordinary, and Monstress. Thanks to Marvel for the free bonus copies of IVX and GLA, but I don’t think we will shoot through most of what we ordered. Marvel has got to find a way to reach some new fans outside the industry and guide them towards their comics."

"Good sales for a 5th Wednesday week. With DC deciding essentially to sit this week out, Marvel dominates. Batman and Superman annuals were DC’s only charting books at #1 and #4. The small week allows Saga to take #3 and Serenity #5. Seven to Eternity is still strong but just shy of making the top ten. Marvel U books take the entire bottom half of the list. Ms. Marvel was their best seller. IVX makes the list, barely, at #8. Very little excitement for this especially after the tepid reaction to Death of X. Deadly Class was my favorite book this week."

"Not a fan of “skip” weeks it really is a bad business practice. Anyway it a shame that Marvel ruin Ghost Rider so bad that it only premiered in 5th place in a week it should have easily been number 1 (and lets face it without a million variants it would not even made this week’s top list)."

"With 5 weeks for November giving us 5 new comic Wednesdays it is another interesting week. Batman and the Superman Annual 1 were our top two sellers. Suicide Squad 7 sold out shocking the heck out of me. Guardians of the Galaxy 14 did very well. People were confused how they were flying around in space since their ship was destroyed but having Spider-man in the issue did help sales. Marvel made up most of the top ten this week."

"The current Doctor Strange title has enjoyed some increased interest thanks to the movie. We have only one issue left out of all of his current series issues."

"Just did a grand opening for our 11th location – about an hour and 45 minutes away from our next closest store. Always interesting to see very different demands in a different area. Stock that was slow or dead at some other locations found happy homes from customers in the new shop!"

"Brisk DC back issue sales (new 52 and pre new 52) – affordable 50 cent stock was moving quickly – plus the usual interest in ‘key’ comics that we see everywhere."
