Love them or hate them, we gotta remember these folks are the freshly new set of people that managed to get in the industries so, as far as we know, they are pretty new at this.

This goes for her, Ian, Quintel, Hirsch and others. yes some of them have storyboarded or worked on the sidelines of older shows, but never had one of their own before this moment.

A lot of people may get burned off by it and descided not to showrun a cartoon again, while others may try a new thing and either do well or don't hit the same lightning twice.

Cause I kind of feel bad for Ian that his show is the one picked by CN to do weird-ass multi-media shit before really making a name for itself.

They had games, shorts and a bunch of multi-media bullshit planned before the public even knows about the freaking cartoon it's based off. Putting a lot of crap before you even know if the main piece of your multi-media plan, the one that must hold everything together, is gonna fair is bonkers and I can't recall a time where it worked.

We also have to take into account how previous generations had to reinvigorate the industry.

The 60s-70s were a lull since the 40s-50s animators used their potential with little forethought into the broadening platforms for animation to be consumed. The 80s were the experimental age where many artists were able mess around with cross-platforms and the marketing abilities of cartoons. Following that came the 90s-00s, where the 80s artists finally got to use their experience on numerous and varied projects.

It seems like we're heading into a lull again because the the past half decade has consisted of new artists not being able to handle producing their own series at a consistent manner, the changing expectations of animation due to the Internet/
greater digital reliance, and the previous generation being on their last legs.

i think people, myself included, are hyped because it seems to know what it wants to do from the get go. There's a clear formula of going from car to car, chipping away at a mystery and finding clues in each one. It's not gonna be like adventure time where it's a fun slice of life adventure and all of a sudden the writing gets butt fucked with plots and characters which go absolutely nowhere for two years.
