Oh please. This episode is pretty good. It wouldn't be out of place in 5-7. Lisa is likable, she and Homer have a sweet moment or two, Bart isn't mean or retarded and there are some good laughs.

You're right, it's not a bad episode, but it's not a great one, and that's the point. Season 9 is during the beginning of the decline that began in Season 8. The show will just get weaker and and weaker. That doesn't mean that there is literally nothing good at all ever, it just gets more and more mediocre.

I think the youngest Homer has ever been was 36.

I remember once Marge was said to be 34, which could imply Homer was intended to be that age at one point too. Sometimes guides and shit act like that necessarily means Marge and Homer are two years apart, but since both references were in different episodes in different seasons, it could just as easily be an inconsistency. They seemed to be the same age in high school.

But yeah, Marge wasn't pregnant until her mid-twenties at the earliest. Apparently they were still living like teenagers for years after high school, fucking on golf courses and such.
