Another year is upon us.
Grab some coco, turn on the Christmas music, and hang out with some /co/mrades as we share stories and get into the holiday spirit.
As previous years share your Amazon wishlist and some random Anon may purchase a holiday gift for you. I'll have two of these pastebins going, one filled with all of the wishlist codes that are shared (pastebin i76p6g59) and another (pastebin PnsZCHHH) filled with people of this year that haven't gotten any gifts.
To get your wishlist code open you wishlists on Amazon, around the top right there's a share option that will open a window with a link in it, we just need the bit after the com/w/
If you are using one of the international versions of Amazon please let us know when you post your list.
If you frequent the threads please don't spam your list number, if you want to keep sharing it please only post it once per thread. Just because you've posted your list doesn't mean someone will purchase you a gift. It's random how Anon's will choose who to buy for. But please take a look through some of the lists and see if there's anyone/thing you want to gift.
Well I certainly don't want to be the first to post their list, would seem rude
Merry christmas everyone

My 3rd year doing this. And usually I mess up the list working Japanese Amazon. Let me know if I did it right this time.
There's a little globe button right below the search button that lets you change language in japan amazon and maybe other country's amazons if you don't know Japanese. But you guys do speak Japanese right? I wonder if the other japan anon who was thinking about leaving japan is still around.

Practically december is still not december.
Whatever. I should hardly be surprised half the fucking malls here started playing christmas music at the start of november, so fucking stupid. The again I am complaining about people trying to sell shit ruining a holiday that has been entirely overrun with people trying to sell shit. Instead of the actual meaning of christmas which is obviouslynotjesusit's actually about watching christmas movies you never paid for.
While we're at it, what is the meaning of christmas /co/?
Getting together with family? Trying to make out with some chick at a party using mistletoe? Buying toys for the kids and manchildren in your life? Giving home made gifts to loved ones? Or just remembering that this entire holiday was designed to keep your spirits up during the darkest months and instead becoming the most popular time to commit suicide?

>>87977087
People are going to get Christmas gifts in April?
>>87977311
It was a test in preordering stuff that's kind of far off.
>>87977255
well crap that means they've changed how their system works again, its still in his wishlist with the pre-order option. Wait... if you check your order list is it showing as ordered off of his wishlist?
And that's how Hellboy spent his Christmas.
>>87977346
It just updated. he's set to be gifted.
>>87977397
But there's no filter for purchased items, maybe that will come later too.
>>87977426
They had the option two years ago but they removed it while I worked for them. I get to it in a roundabout way by opening one of my wishlists and setting it to view purchased then putting the other people's list code into the url. It works just fine and I can see what has been purchased for the last several years from that list. I still know of some oddball ways of doing stuff on their site like last year I sent coal to an anon that only had sex toys on his wishlist even though normally you can't send stuff to people that isn't on their lists.
>>87977487
Yeah, was about to post the /ref=cm_wl_list_o_4?reveal=purchased&view=null for that. I almost sent some books I had in my cart that I forgot about when ordering the books.
It looks like preordering works so I gifted some future stuff to
1ARISLMZZ8M7Y for trying so hard to post
YZBEZMECFB3M for the false order earlier
did anyone figure out if you could use instocktrades for this?
I'm confused. Did people get gifted or was it a fake out? And what's this about preordering?
>>87977658
Fake outs earlier, real gifting now. Some people have items that aren't out yet on their lists, you can still buy someone a preorder gift but I would try to avoid it as much as possible unless it's coming out soon.
>>87977658
we had two posts of someone saying they gifted someone else, this was a fakeout or an error IE ordered to their address not the giftee.
Pre-ordering something for an anon will work just fine it just took a few minuet to update on the purchase lists.
>>87977590
With the current setup instocktrades wouldn't work as it's not amazon wishlists, unless they sell on amazon....
>>87977699
>Some people have items that aren't out yet on their lists
Ohhhh. I thought it was some sort of place an order to go out whenever the person feels like paying.
>>87977699
Left my code on which looks greedy so KH5WB08TYKXR has been gifted
I'm super excited to be here from the start this time, last two years were a blast. Shame that this year I'm no longer a NEET, so I won't have time to try and solve as many riddles, but at least I'll be able to buy more gifts!HAHK6IHHM9JN
>>87977590
If you have an IST account, you can make the wishlist shareable with a unique link. On Amazon, there's an option for "I'm buying this elsewhere," but I imagine that leaves a bit more room for fraud.
>>87977699
Sent!
>>87977706
I don't think that would work since accessing other people's wishlists doesn't allow you to buy from there without their address.
They do sell gift certificates though, so maybe a way to exchange those with a cheap amazon item and gift note?
>>87977699
>Fake outs earlier
Aw I was excited that someone had sent me a gift so quickly.
>>87977813
are you the Japanon? Why is their stuff so much more expensive than the English versions? That Saga hardcover is at least $20 more over there.
>>87977813
Sorry anon, some people just hate fun.
>>87977804
well that would get a little convoluted.... but if they happen to sell their giftcard on amazon that would work.
>>87977906
Looks like they can be emailed too but that's still more info than amazon wishlists give
>>87977786
Thanks!
>>87977899
No idea why it is so much more expensive here, other than that's just how the country wants its imports.

I'm gonna call it a night, got work in the morning. I'll see about setting up a video stream in the next few days.
>>87978098
We keep the threads going through the new year and the pastbins stay up year round. So toss your wishlist code out, only once per thread please, and there's a good chance someone will buy you something. Last year we got to 99.99% gifted, with 243 people getting gifts, only two people left in the ungifted list (that had addresses) and they were added after Christmas.
I am gonna story time the mirage Michelangelo mini since its christmas themed I hope I do okay this is my first time trying

It's the giving season anon. You give love and kindness in hopes that the people you hive to play in foward and show kindness to others. Most people do this by giving gifts, random acts of kindness, or making charitable donation. When your poor as fuck or your a piece of shit and don't really have anything to give anyone (or no one gives anything to you) it will make you really sad.
and thats the end, of it hope I did okay and I hope you have a good night its 5 am and I am going to bed happy holidays and have a great day tomorrow

HO HO HO
Look like the festivities have begun. I've got an Amazon Prime trial revved up and ready for gifting. I look forward to the coming storytimes and anons showing off the gifts they received.
Merry Christmas
Oh man I was wondering if we were going to wait for December 1st or not.
Unfortunately I have a new teaching job this year that doesn't leave me with a lot of cash to use for these threads, but I'll still be around because I fucking love Christmas.
Goddamn I missed you beautiful nerds. I'll be storytiming in the next few days, but I'll be gone for the day due to celebrating Thanksgiving today since retail is hell. For anyone doing any early gifting, keep in mind Amazon is offering $10 off any book order of $25 or more from Amazon, with the discount code HOLIDAYBOOK. The deal applies once per account, and it’s good through November 28, 2016 at 02:59am EST. Just a few caveats: the book has to be sold directly from Amazon (so no third-party sellers or used books), and print books only (no so Kindle books).
But it's not even December yet.
>>87980883
In order for items to ship with enough time to arrive for Christmas, and for everyone to be gifted, threads need to start fairly early. Most other boards are already done with their Secret Santa stuff, but since we use Amazon as our primary service we can afford to start a little later. Also, the spirit of the season can strike at any time, and isn't supporting one another and spreading warmth our goal as a board? /co/ can still be love, if we all work to make it so.
tl;dr We wait as long as we can & are trying to be nice.

>>87975641
Hail Santa!I haven't really updated my wishlist from last year, so I'm going to hold off on posting it. I'll be keeping an eye on all of you though.
Also, I'd like to have a little writing contest in this thread for the people that aren't code breakers or artists or musicians. Here's a pastebin with the details of it (Elusive, could you be so kind to put it in the OP of future threads so that others will see it?)
But the gist of it is to write a story (length of your own choosing) about some/one /co/ characters spend the holidays.
The writer of the best piece will get a $50-$80 present off of their wishlist, and there may be some consolation prizes for the other submitters.
Due date will be some time on December 18th so be sure to post it in the thread before then.

Technically Christmas season doesn't begin until Christmas Day and then goes all the way to January 6th. (Longer if you're in an Orthodox church)
Advent is sort of a more sober time of reflection and preparation, it's just in America, "preparation" for Christmas means "BUY A LOT OF SHIT AND STRESS AND PRETEND IT MAKES YOU HAPPY"

What's the way to do these?
Just looking at it, QCXOZ'R is kind of easy, it's a 5 letter contraction and R is probably a T, easpecially since RMX is earlier which is probably T.
The N is either A or I since it's those are the only single letter words.

In the last year, I'd recommend anything by Tom King (Vision, Omega Men, The Sheriff of Babylon). Steve Lieber is a bro who comes by the board pretty frequently, so it's fortunate that Superior Foes of Spider-Man and The Fix are brilliant. Check the descriptions and see what you like.
>>87994485
I feel like The Fix is trying too hard and is a bit too slow.

I'm giving the pacing the benefit of the doubt because Lieber's gags make me giddy. His Hood River Gin caption alone brought me along for the ride.
