I had always assumed it was a morphic field thing. Some FROM DEEP WITHIN THE RED OR GREEN type shit where the ideal conduit for willpower and life is this bipedal structure.

Life naturally takes on a similar shape as the most optimized use of its capabilities and intellect. Evolution settling into a universal cosmic mold.

We don't look like Kryptonians, Kryptonians don't look like humans. We're all just walking upright because it's the best place for most of our brains to be.

DC is canonically made of comic books

There are tons of planets with all manner of life forms in the DC universe, and Jor-El spent a lot of effort to find one that randomly happened to have life forms that resembled Kryptonians.

It's a big universe, so probability was in his favor. There are even other worlds with human-like creatures that Kal-El potentially could have been sent to. New Genesis, for example.

I believe the explanation is the Source is where all life came from in the early days of the DC universe just had a preference for the humanoid shape and that is why most life forms have that shape. Rather quite simple.

Picture the DC Universe without Superman or the Kryptonians or any other alien race that looks like humans for that matter. Now, imagine that at the end of the universe, a rogue group of highly advanced humans, still looking the same as they did billions of years ago due to genetic manipulation, travelling back in time to escape the heat death.

In the past, the humans spread across the stars. Through genetic manipulation and interbreeding with other species, new races are created, looking either exactly like humans or with some slight differences, such as an extra bodypart or an unusual skin color. This is the DC Universe we know today.

At least, that's how I like to imagine it.

This isn't the new one. They had a team of linguists design a language specifically for MoS.

They used to have a star-spanning empire and used things like solar bombs to give themselves a yellow sun charge and such. Then the science people came to dominate the council rather than the military, which resulted in them leaving all their holdings, retreating to Krypton, and staying home forever after.
