>You now realize he won't even be considered for a DCEU film for the obvious similarities casuals will draw between him and MCU Ultron.

Being a Metallo fan is suffering.
>>
Metallo can't carry the villain role on his own. He only works as lackey or starter villain
>>
>>87897018
That's what someone who doesn't know shit about Metallo says.
Metallo could hold a movie by himself, he's a fucking military goon with a super cyborg body.
>>
>one less character for Snyder to butcher and leave toxic until the next reboot

shame

>ultron

After the wheel chair guy on BvS there would be any way to do it, because they already used this plotline.

Which is a shame because on earlier drafts of the script it was Metallo instead of Doomsday - and it sounds way better and make much more sense.
>>
>>87896876
He was really mishandled in the DCAU.
His first few appearances set him up as a sympathetic and properly motivated villain, but everything after that was him just being evil for evil's sake.
>>
>>87896876

What the fuck is an ultron? And do people actually watch marvel movies?
>>
>>87897127
>Being this much of a contrarian, reality denying faggot
Never change, /co/.
>>
>>87897093
>he's a fucking military goon

and? That's really nothing. I like the guy but he's really just a decent starter villain.

Have him do some questionably legal mercenary stuff.

He gets blowed up while trying to fight Superman

lex Luthor hooks him up with some cybernetics

As the movie goes on he gets increasingly more pissed off at Superman and Lex and at the climax superman has to save lex from metallo.

End the film with Superman appearing outside Lex's high rise office saying he knows Lex is responsible and that Lex tells him to prove it.

Really pretty obvious in hindsight. Sometimes I wonder if DC does stupid shit on purpose.

Blonsky/Abomination held the 2008 Hulk together just fine. I think you're lowballing his potential pretty hard, anon.
>>
>>87897159
>>87897093

I feel like, with Metallo being a military goon, there's more of an opportunity to see Superman fighting an incredibly vicious opponent (as well as an opponent that actually has some pathos to them and isn't just some asshole with no motives).

Kind of like how they couldn't use Doomsday because their Doomsday looked like Hulk, Abomination, Cave Troll, etc.

C'mon, guys.
Let's turn this Metallo thread around.

If you care in any capacity about Metallo, how should DC portray him in the event he's ever included in a Superman film series?

DCEU or otherwise.
>>
>>87896876
He should have been the guy whose truck superman's destroyed at the start of MoS

>lose job
>Luthor hires you
>turns you into metallo to fuck with Superman
>>
>>87897351
Dude, DC comics are good right now, while their movies are shit - and the opposite is true with Marvel.

Stop being autistic and just don't buy shitty comics.

Blonsky was the B-Plot. Ross was the antagonist that kept the film moving.
>>
My issue with Metallo isn't that he can't be cool, just that I don't recall him ever being cool.

He was voiced by Malcolm McDowell in the DCAU, for chrissakes! I should actually remember him doing something other than getting ganked by Silver Banshee toward the end of JLU.
>>
I think it's Marvel goal to cuck as many ideas from DC while they have their cinematic universe running

Did anyone else notice how the "sling rings" in Dr. Strange cucks a lot of the feel and names from any GL series?

Casuals will see "magic ring" and since the most recent magic ring to show up in fiction were the rings in Dr. Strange, they'll think it's a rip off.

God forbid Kilowog anyone says "Ring slinging".

I think Marvel purposefully named them "sling rings" to steal thunder from DC
I think they purposefully do that as often as possible

I can see a military goon fitting in the DCEU perfectly because the government and military have every reason to want to suppress metahumans in general and Kryptonians in particular.

So you make Metallo the all american guy that loves his mom and wants to save his country and he goes nuts over aliens and their wave of destruction and maybe he's got a vendetta since his best friend died during the events of Man of Steel or something. Then Superman kills him. Easy peasy.
>>
>>87896876
He wouldn't happen because people would expect him to be fighting Cyborg
>>
>>87896876
I wouldn't tie Metallo's origin to Luthor. At least not directly, and besides it's much more simple to just have him be a crippled soldier who jumps to volunteer to become a cyborg as part of an experimental military program to come up with an anti-superman weapon.

He goes crazy from sensory deprivation and a disconnect with reality, starts murdering at random and he fights Superman. Blames Superman for simply existing, since a guy out for revenge from being directly harmed by Superman is a cop-out.

The problem is, that's essentially just an evil Robocop. Been done and Snyder wouldn't do a more sympathetic Metallo justice since the movie would have to explore what it is to be human and how Metallo voluntarily gave up his humanity.
>>
>>87896876
There is no reason why Doomsday wasn't Metallo in BvS

It's perfect
>>
Is this some kind of MCU thread? Because this popped up on my RSS feeds:

http://nofilmschool.com/2016/11/heres-whats-wrong-with-why-do-marvel-movies-look-kind-of-ugly
>Willems misunderstands the power of color grading within the overall image creation chain. For instance, when discussing the still above, the video makers says "it just looks like mushy concrete." Which, well, it is. Concrete. It's an airport. A silver one. The production designer, director, and location scout had as much to do with that image looking the way it does as the colorist. Even if it was a CGI scene, the VFX artist choosing a dull white airport versus a vibrant airport (Denver, against the mountains, or Incheon with its glass reflecting a beautiful blue sky) is as much a part of the image creation as the grade is. There's not a lot of color there to pop, which is why it isn't surprising that later in the video, when doing "test scenes" to show your proposed grade, you don't use this scene. Because popping the saturation and crunching the blacks here won't make nearly the dramatic transition it does to most shots. Color is an image isn't just up to the colorist, it's a complex result of decisions made all the way back to the script stage (choosing to write the scene at an airport, say, and not in the middle of a paint factory).

How many Disney Bucks do you think this guy got for the article? Three?
>>
>>87898007
Pottery of course.
That's the real issue of the movie, he went a little too George Lucasy and tried too hard to make elements resonate with other elements but in the end it didn't really work because it's so awkward. Like an anon has a theory that the theme of the MoS trilogy is Earth vs Aliens. So Luthor needed Doomsday otherwise the big final threat would've been purely terrestrial. So Synder's weird underlying themes overtook simpler and more logical decisions.
>>
>>87896876
Thanks for reminding me that superman animated had such amazing actors in it.

Ian "sock hop" McDowell nailed this role.
>>
>>87898176
