A former prosecutor said it was standard practice to plant a gun afterwards so even if they kill you the police were just doing self defense. Being caught on camera killing a person doesn't even get a conviction/prosecution alot of the time and they can just quit their job and get a new one preemptively in order to end any investigations. There's also the fact that they apparently have the legal authority to erase anything bad on their own personnel records in some places.

Yeah, I know it shouldn't for a lot of reasons. But the implication here is that Banner "died" for nothing. At least Final Crisis waited till the end to show Batman was alive yet keep up the mystery about whose corpse Superman was holding.

Actually come to think of it, if Old Man Logan is being used here, why the fuck didn't Bendis have him kill Banner off instead of Hawkeye? Logan came from a future where the Hulk killed his family and he'd have a damn good reason for trying to prevent his future from happening.
