As for how long Strange trains with the Ancient One, Wong acts like he's learning unusually fast, and Strange mentions earning two different doctorates at the same time.

For the 400th time, there is no issue. The Russos have said that Strange was name dropped because even though he wasn't Sorcerer Supreme at the time, he was still identified as someone who would not submit to Hydra rule. That was the whole point of the scene - "Zola's algorithm analyzes a target's past to determine their future."

Whether Strange became the Sorcerer Supreme or not, he would not have submitted to tyranny.

This couldn't have possibly been predicted from the Script only, but in retrospect they could've used the Time stone to fill out the story gaps.

They could've integrated the weird passage of time in the movie with the Ancient One's "betrayal".

Just have Mads ask Strange how long he thought he had been training for, and have Strange be confused, then reveal that the Ancient One had been syphoning people's time with the eye to try and expand hers, in a futile attempt. Which would have been how Strange progressed to fast in such a short while (thus stealing him of his life). It'd even work because Strange doesn't have the white hair at the beginning.

Then do the same for Mads's motivation: he searched magic to heal his kid, but being in the Kamar Taj and having his time stolen from him by the Ancient One, so that when he came back, his kid was beyond saving, and he had wasted his time searching for a cure instead of being with him, thanks to the Ancient One's fear.

This would've been a cleverer way of turning a bug into a feature.
