Now that I think about it, I don't think Jaune has ever won a personal 1v1 fight against another person in the show. He's gotten good where he can fight Grimm easily enough, but so far every time he's fought another person he's lost like against Cardin, or came up with a plan that led to beating the opponents like during the tournament fight.

Cardin was someone he was actually scared of and has consistently shown to be much stronger and more powerful than him. The bullying was obviously just as psychological as well as physical. I wouldn't really say Beacon is the best considering how easily the school fell and if it really was then that just lowers the bar as a whole.

Team RWBY just has plot convinience which is why they seem to be the best at the school and shouldn't be used as the standard considering they are main characters.

Of all the teams sent to the tourney it was RWBY, CFVY, and JNPR and , while we all know the real reason is plot convinience, if they were the representative, the best Beacon has to offer, than I'd say the average hunter wouldn't really be all too impressive.

I'd even say they'd be pretty close to a full trained Jaune. Which isn't much.

Well we've been thrown through a number of loops in RWBY.

Lots of things we are clearly not adequately informed about.

Ozpin and people lied to the characters, and to us. There is a deep history of magic and there are really scary things out there in the world of Remnant.

We don't know how deep the magic goes - is it just some simple summoning or is it the work of Eldrich abominations?

I'm thinking our understanding of death and the soul are also going to be turned on its head: our trust has already been weakened by the existence of Penny - as well as the Fallen Maiden aura-soul-transfer experiment.

So our understanding of aura, soul, and life after death is now kinda put in a haze because of Penny, the Fallen Maiden's strange half-sucked state, and the maidens in general. Not to mention Pyrrha's sparkly death.

So while I do think Pyrrha is dead, I don't think we truly know what that means...

Because the soundtrack told us - death isn't what it seems.

With each confrontation she becomes more Grimm like due to Cinder restricting more and more of her free will/ humanity. She later escapes.

Weiss probably be more powerful towards the end but it's a long walk, the power Pyrrha was hiding makes her a pretty hard opponent for anyone not having demigod defenses like Cinder's (like seriously, the amount of punishment a slim woman like her managed to take with the maiden powers before getting silver eye'd was brutal, Pyrrha basically put her inside a giant meat grinder and she walked out of that unscratched). Plus, the bad guys win through much more than just power. They weaken the heroes in mind, spirit and if possible also body before taking on them head on. That's how they managed to best Amber and make Beacon fall. Salem knows they're too strong for them if they're brave, hopeful and united. Recovering those elements will be key in defeating the shadows menacing Remnant once and for all.
