Hey /co/ the other day I said I'd be starting Sandman but work has been insane for the past 2 days so I just couldnt get home in time. So let's start Sandman!

How is everyone doing tonight?
>>87617992
Good. Glad to be on this train again.
sweet I've been meaning to read this I hear good things
I don't know shit about anything related to this other than Death came to Lex Luthor and gave him a pony

Well then you are going to learn all about ALL of the Endless. They are the greatest dysfunctional family in comics.
>>87618119
Now that I"m not tied to the station I can actually story time again.
How long is this?
>>87618270
Tonights story time or Sandman as a whole?
>>87618287
Both.
>>87617992
What's your work Dan-o
>>87618305
I am a journalist at a local news station.
>>87618320
Oh wow very cool
>>87618358
Not recently lol, a LOT of long hours.
>>87618303
Sandman proper is 75 issues, but there is a shit ton of various spin off stuff
>>87618059
Man, there are so many little hidden things in this first issue. Once studied, nearly every page is a significant plot point for the future
>>87618059
I don't think I'd be a huge fan of McKean's artwork on its own (reminds me of I Spy), but it works so well with Sandman - a perfect blend of surreal, creepy, and mysterious
>>87618069
and I always thought this page was a pretty underwhelming/mundane opening page for what would become a 75-issue fantasy epic, if that makes sense. Preludes & Nocturnes is till great though.
>>87618947
>I thought the hurting would stop
:'-(
>EXIT LIGHT
>ENTER NIGHT
>TAKE MY HAND
>WE'RE OFF TO NEVER-NEVER LAND
>>87618779
>John's face
It's going to be one of those days, isn't it? I noticed something odd about this crossover issue.
Things turn out for the better for everyone involved. This isn't what John's life is usually like.
>>87619486
Is the dyke from this issue dating the girl from the Death spin-off thingie?
>>87619086
>>87619099
>>87619104
This 3 page sections is one of my favorite parts of any comic. I fucking love Morpheus's line about the power of Dreams in Hell. Lucifer's Silhouette in the last page over the panels of the page is so cool.
>>87619540
Issue 4 was the best issue for a very long time with this series.
>>87618287
>trying to wait out something that is called an "eternal"
Great plan
>>87619636
What would you have done in his place?
>>87619670
This is the shit right here. First time it hits that Dream is definitely not a bitch.
>>87619706
>>87619760
>>87619772
I really wish I could've been there when Gaiman came up with this.
>>87619652
Doing literally anything would have been a better idea than keeping him in a glass box. Try to fuck with him somehow and either it actually succeeds (not likely) and you get something out of it or he gets free and probably punishes you nowhere near as bad, and you don't waste your life on false hope.
Or just let him fucking go because the plan didn't work, the magic was shit, and get on with your life.
Dan I fucking love you, always always wanted to read Sandman. How are you love?
>>87619852
Doing as well as one can in this crazy climate as a journalist
Thanks for reading!
>>87619893
Thanks Dan, you sound a bit down with work atm but you've brightened my 14 our shift up immensely.
>>87619893
Thank you for stoyrtiming.
>>87619934
It's a rough time to be a journalist as far as work load goes lol but I still love my job
>>87619893
Thanks for the storytime
>>87618414
Pelvic thrust!
You gonna do the prequel? Overture?
How was it, I didn't get around to reading it yet.
>>87618429

>>87621210
>>87621417
Do not sexualize the Kinge of Dreames.
>>87621425
but he's sodreamy
>>87619858
"Is that all I get?"
Oh, god.
>>87621677
>you now realize that before Neil and Amanda had their first child, they were going to have one earlier until it miscarriaged
>>87622875
Miscarriages are crazy common. The human body is really shit at giving birth to other humans.
>>87617992
Hey Dan!go exercise sometime. You kinda need it.
