I've watched the entire series, and today I watched all the shorts. Since I started watching I've been trying to figure out why this show felt so familiar. Not familiar as in I've seen the show itself before, but the feeling it invoked was similar to some other media. And I just couldn't place the feeling, so I kept thinking about it.
At first I thought that the feeling was similar to that of Spongebob, but that didn't seem right, and that sensation only seemed to pop in my mind when I watched the Warrior siblings laugh in front of the valley-girl Princess Zangee.
When I voiced this quandary in another thread someone said that it felt like Slayers, The anime. I disagreed. The humor and action of the Slayers series were of different kinds, of different qualities, than this bizarre cartoon.
The pacing of the show is so very rushed, the script simple but busy. And the characters, nonsensical but blunt and forward, blatant really. And that's when it hit me: this feeling was the same feeling I had watching Johnny Test.
That epiphany just colored the show so sourly from me.
