This reminds me of this Medium article where a male journalist went undercover and applied to write for The Mary Sue, under a female pseudonym. He was accepted with no background check, and wrote an article that claimed to call out the sexism within FF7.

"She" deliberately lied or misrepresented aspects of the game (but worded it in a way that was palatable to "her" target audience and towed the party line) and had blatantly slut-shamed and body-shamed Tifa, but because "she" claimed to do it from a feminist perspective, nearly everything was A-OK'd by "her" editor.

I say "nearly" because "she" also tried to include tips on how characters like Tifa could be better represented; for example, by looking more like muscular female MMA fighters who could actually defend themselves. The editor suggested "she" take that part out, so it was replaced with more body shaming, and then greenlit.
