I'd like to see Akira Toriyama (the dude that made DBZ) actually do a Superman comic.

I'd also like to see Tite Kubo do either a Green Lantern comic or an X-Men comic. Just because he's so good a making characters that all have the same uniform, but all stand out in a unique way.

And I've always thought the same idea OP. I think it would be good for a company to do that. Pair a Western writer with a Japanese manga artist. That's a best-selling product waiting to happen.

Yeah I love Bleach and I agree to this and that he has great story telling IDEAS and concepts but can't seem to fit all together sometimes and maybe you're right, that it's because he's on a schedule that demands he chop it all up.

I'm making my own super hero stuff and I hope to publish it and have it be successful enough that I can invite Kubo to come work with me on something too. Give him a chance to do his thing in a different format. He might enjoy getting more time to work on things before they have to be published.

One thing he is good at is villain making. He makes villains so awesome you end up rooting for them instead of the hero. I'd love to see him get his hands on some established super villains or making a new one.

From TVtropes:

Kazuya Kagami never goes anywhere without the precious Sakura Obi his mother gave him. One day a beautiful, kimono-clad girl named Kiriha appeared before him. Kiriha naturally began to live with Kazuya in his room. Then there's Chisato, Kazuya's childhood friend with glasses and a ponytail, who meddles in his affairs. Soon there's also an overprotective older sister who seems to want to take baths with him. Jumble in a huge-chested miko, beautiful women, and hot girls, and Kazuya's happy, embarrassing, confusing life begins!
Tsugumomo is a manga written and illustrated by Yoshikazu Hamada. It has been running since 2007, and is published by Futabasha in a few of their magazines. It has been collected in 14 volumes. Has recently been announced that it will have an anime in 2017.

To be honest, manga and anime fags think a good villain is someone who comes with convoluted shit and that is.
I mean look how popular are DB villains and how shit they are. Freezer is lieterally just ''muh power'', Cell was decent, Buu was just ''muh destruction'' and Black Zamas is a fanfic tier villain, yet DBfags think he is the best villain of the series.
>>

Raoh. People who try to sum him up as a "Muh power" character completely miss the point to him.

Since we're talking about Bleach so much I'd like to see Gaiman and Kubo team up for a Bleach spin off sorts. Gaiman obviously loves Death and the after life and spirits and gods.

There is a lot of crossover in their respective themes. Gaimain would take those deeps a lot deeper than Kubo seemed able to.

he's right at the end of like five thousand years of "just as keikaku" so of course he looks one dimensional

This doesn't fulfill your own initial criteria of "trying to kill his own comrade to save a guy because he's too dumb to think"

Because Deku wasn't TRYING to kill his own comrades he was trying to save Kacchan, yes his teammates would have been killed in the process but hardly because he was trying to kill them, besides that, at this point in the story Deku and Co. don't even have their training wheels off and have been dumped into the deep end by their own rashness into a situation far beyond their capabilities it's no wonder they're too stressed/panicked to think rationally

Is anyone else really surprised that no team-ups like this have happened? An American writer + a Japanese writer would sell INSANELY well if they marketed it based on that fact alone, everyone's a weeb these days. Lots of properties that mix East and West have been successful (FLCL, Boku no Hero, Cowboy Bebop, etc).

>>87512237
He might be talking about Noah and co. They were never really actually explained, and neither were the other alleged Old Ones, and then there were all those clowns, and then a bunch of other characters I can't recall right now. Not to mention the Kishin wasn't actually defeated, just kept at bay by Crona, who is now trapped on the moon forever despite Maka saying "I'll come back for you" (which doesn't mean anything since it's the end of the series). Some people said it felt more like a penultimate arc rather than the final one. I thought it was okay.
>>
>>87511674
They did hide the fact. No one knew where they where going which meant there was an inside leak.
>>
>>87512050
Oh come on. What Deku was about to do was 100% in-line with what was already established for his character. We have already established that, many times, he jumps into things without thinking in order to protect or help somebody else. He can't stand watching other people struggle while he stands on the sidelines. Many characters have chastised him for being reckless.
The point at which we're allowed to call it shitting writing is when it's inconsistent with what's already been established for the character and generally just doesn't make sense. Was it stupid of him? Absolutely. But it made complete sense.
>>
>>87511415

Nami and Robin also have the same basic backstory with one aspect changed: "Pirates ruined my childhood!" "The Navy/Govt. Ruined my childhood!" "I'm going to leave the crew until Luffy gets me to rejoin in a dramatic moment!" And now in the current OP stories they're drawn more or less as palette swaps of each other whereas Robin had this more elegant and distinct design post Crocodile.

I'm definitely not saying they're bad characters, and hell, Robin's powers definitely make her stand out from Nami, but I'm not gonna deny that Oda didn't tell the same story twice with each of them, even if it was a *good* story.

Who else would read the shit out of Grant Morrison's Kamen Rider W comic?
>>
>>87514020
What? Nami was forced into slavery by pirates, so she hated them and took every opportunity to steal from other pirates in order to pay off the money she needed to get her home and the people she loved out from under Arlong.

Robin was the enemy of the entire world, so the only people she could turn to for help were criminals. Then she kept throwing these people under the bus whenever the World Government showed up for her because, as far as she knew, the only people who ever cared about her died on Ohara. The only reason CP9 was able to get her in the first place was because she'd finally found a group of people that she cared for enough to not ditch them once things got hot.
>>
>>87514280
Are you choosing for art or what? It feels like you're choosing for theme but some of those are nuts. How would an Asano Mr. Miracle comic feel anything like a Mr. Miracle comic? Why Urasawa "just unsatisfyingly conclude my mystery up senpai" Naoki at all?

Best one you mentioned is Urushibara.
>>
>>87514340
..Again, it's the same basic story. Both were villains, or at least they did criminal things out of necessity, both abandoned the Luffy Pirates, though Robin was more altruistic about it whereas Nami was doing it for her village and both screwed people over. Nami stole all that gold, even if it was from other pirates.

I'm not saying it's bad, dude, but Oda used the same -basic- story twice.
>>
>>87514341
Both art and writing. Your job as a writer when you're put on a new charter isn't to just do what the previous writer did. Most of the best comics featuring characters from the big two are comics that took a new direction. I think Inio is great at character work and could do a good job on writing a good love story between Scott and Barda. action was never the important part of Mr. miracle anyway.

Bad writing occurs when characters break rationality in unbelievable ways.

Jumping out there to try and save Bakugou was a completely rational thing for Deku to do, even if it was ultimately a terrible idea. Because it's an action that falls in line with his entire character profile, it means it isn't bad writing.

Kubo just stopped caring about Bleach. He was beaten down by editorial and he just stopped giving a shit. There is so much foreshadowing during the first two arcs and the care that went into them compared to what came after is noticable.

The third arc wasn't what he planned from being forced to create more villains to focus on, to being told to drag it out because it was a popular arc.
