Why doesn't Hollywood realize that sometimes in the pursuit

If Hollywood worked that way we'd be better off. But it's not, there are a few very powerful people with some success behind making movies 20, maybe 30 years ago going off of cherry-picked focus groups but ultimately what they think is the way to do things. It's more about the whims of the powerful than any measure of what the masses want.

That's why you get bland movies and that's why you follow formulas.

I don't even feel like I'm asking for too much. I'm not saying you have to be 100% faithful to the source material. You don't even need to go full on "Primary colored bricks" with the megazord.
Just go watch Pacific Rim. Or the recent Godzilla. Both movies had a perfect balance between on-screen believably and being fundamentally toyetic. It's not fucking hard.

Zyuoh mechs (and Toq who had a similar design gimmick) make pretty good suits in the show but the toys look horrendous because of the individual parts being big cubes that stack and unfold. The whole thing ends up incredibly, well, blocky.

The White Ranger's Falcon Zord wasn't even apart of the initial Ninja Megazord. Pink Crane was the head and White Falcon attached to the back and folded its wings between the arms to act as laser cannons.

The Falcon zord was a completely separate zord in the original Sentai, it wasn't part of the same set as the Ninja zords. The White ranger just had 3 zords which is why the Falcon zord could combine with both the Ninja Megazord and the Shogun Megazord
