Second, he broods the entire game about how bad it is that those guys killed his niece in a drive by a couple years ago but he doesn't stop for a second to think that it's his own god damn fault for being a piece of shit criminal in the first place that put his family in that position. He only wants to seek revenge on the people he thinks are responsible. He talks with a stupid gravelly tough guy voice and you can tell that the writers wanted him to be a sympathetic character but he blames everyone but himself for his own problems and refuses to accept responsibility for any wrongdoing that occurs around him. This is the same guy who hacks the CTOS to cause thousands if not millions of dollars in property damage and also STEALING MONEY OUT OF PEOPLE'S BANK ACCOUNTS. How can someone who is such a blatant piece of shit in-game garner any sympathy other than the fact that he's "the main character?" Hell, Damian was more likable than that piece of furniture trenchcoat-wearing furniture.

And then toward the end of the game you're just waiting for him to have this epiphany like "oh my god, this is all my fault I should totally change my ways and stop being such a piece of shit by endangering everyone I love" and it never comes. They kidnap his fucking nephew and he never once has a thought like that, he just has to go and be the hero and save the day because "this is a dumb video game, stop thinking so much about it."
