Someone on reddit did a "Backstroke of the West"-like translation of Attack of the Clones(The Duplicate Offensive) by translating the English subtitles into Chinese and back. A little more artificial, but still pretty funny. The "The Second Gathers" is just for consistency sake.

http://imgur.com/a/EyuJM

He's also done ESB:

http://imgur.com/a/RwtUu

and TFA:

http://imgur.com/a/HRHKI

And RotJ:

https://imgur.com/gallery/VKRBm

He's gonna do the rest and then release the subtitle files:

Will Disney give Filoni more projects after Rebels is done? TFA is not real Star Wars to me. I think Rebels only feels like authentic Star Wars because Filoni is the successor to George Lucas. Does anyone else feel like this? I am worried if he leaves there will be no more good Star Wars for me.

I don't give a shit what you think, TFA sucked and didn't feel like Star Wars. Although Lucas isn't involved with Rebels, it still has that "Star Wars feel" to me. I hoped that the Sequel Trilogy would have this sort of industrial theme. Kind of like Halo Reach.

>>
>>87449868
We've been fine with remakes for decades now. Terminator 2, the BttF sequels, ROTJ, the Fly, the Thing. Remakes aren't easy to make to begin with so TFA did decent on that regard.

In that case, it seems we've lost our touch. The remakes (sequels?) you mentioned were at least halfway decent. Nowadays, it's all mindless garbage appealing to the lowest common denominator. All flash, no substance. All show, no room for imagination.

Then again, this sounds like it's more of a /tv/ thing. Don't really want to flood this place with any more bullshit than it already has.

-Luke's confusing plan
-Boba Fett's shitty death
-Obi-Wan's poor explanation about the identity of Luke's father
-Second Death Star
-Ewoks
-Leia being Luke's sister
-The implication that the Emperor's "best troops" got beaten by ewoks

Despite all these faults, ROTJ is still an enjoyable movie. Better than the prequels that's for sure.
>>
>>87451945
Oh where to begin...

Jabba's Palace was just George redoing the cantina, but with a bigger budget.

Second Death Star.

Cinematography looks like that of a made for TV movie in some scenes.

Ewoks are just way too kiddy.

Han and Leia don't do shit after the first act.
>>
>>87451945
For me, it was the musical numbers. Granted, Lapti Nek has grown on me over the years, but back in the day I hated those numbers with a passion.

I actually liked the Ewoks. Especially that one that steals the speeder bike.
>>
>>87452218
The only one there that bothers me is the Luke and Leia sibling revelation. It felt like George intended there to be more to it originally, but we ended up with something that turned out to be very shallow and would have been entirely irrelevant if not for how Vader used Leia against Luke in their fight.

Luke and Leia really should have been shown to have a deeper connection in previous two films.

They were afraid that Nute Gunray would escape and return withanother droid army. Of course I guess that means they were also afraid that the Republic wouldn't believe there was an invasion even after they fought then off and contacted Coruscant.

This also begs the question of why Nute Gunray didn't just leave as soon as he knew the Queen had returned. As a matter of fact when he catches the people trying to get to the throne room to capture him, instead of sending them to some sort of prison cell. He brings them to him.

And how did they know he was in the throne room. The said he was probably there, but had no proof. Good guess, I guess.

what was interesting in that episode was Rex taking multiple hits and Ezra got hit once and they were both fine. Kanan helped Ezra move a bit, but that didn't last. So like the poor Droidekas overheating I wondered if maybe their other equipment like their blasters were suffering and not firing at full effect. That said they never indicated the shots were weaker when deflecting them and then still worked fine piercing explosives. The Droidekas shots were even damaging AT-DP walkers, albeit nothing fatal.

Okay.

The Trade Federation blockades Naboo because of an issue with trade routes.

Jedi show up as ambassadors for the Chancellor. The Federation try to kill them. The Federation then invades Naboo which apparently is illegal unless Amidala signs a treaty.

Fast forward to Coruscant and no one believes that Naboo has been illegally invaded. Never mind that the Trade Federation has blocked communications, sent the Queen on the run, blasted the fuck out of her ship and tried to murder two Jedi Knights.

Now the Rogue One tank trooper armor, those dudes are some sexy beasts. I like that they actually show the armor is pitted and dirty. That's the armor of a working man, an active soldier. Too often the Stormtrooper Corp was about style over substance, so they wear snazzy ultra clean armor. Any idiot can polish his armor. It takes more to be a true soldier, but even some of their officers felt shiny armor proved they were the best. The First Order is just doubling down on that.

Even small details between these scenes. Why did Nute Fuckray believe a protocol droid's claim that the two strangers are Jedi Knights? Why didn't they keep the door locked after gassing the room they were in? When they escaped the blockade, why did the blockade fuck off when they came back? Why did the droid army bother driving out the Gungans if they literally do not give a damn about the Naboo?

Why did Vader only want their hyperdrive disabled? If he didn't want them to escape, why not just disable the entire engine so they can't get off the ground?

The AT-AT's are quite clearly shown to only be able to shoot from the front. Yet. for some reason, the rebels insist their snowspeeders only attack them from the front (where they can be shot at) as opposed to the sides or the back (where they can't get shot)

Yoda fails to act wisely. As the last remaining trained Jedi, he sends Luke alone to face off against Darth Vader: who he knows to be stronger than his son. While training Luke, he is revealed to still be very powerful (lifting the entire Fighter with no effort). So it makes no sense that he wouldn't join the Rebellion cause, if only to provide strategic input or being carried in a back-pack to assist Luke in his fights. Instead, he simply decides to leave Luke on his suicide mission and thinks no further of it.
>>

>>87453632
>How does the Millennium Falcon get from Hoth to the Anoat system to Bespin without a functioning hyperdrive?
Hoth and Bespin are neighbors, i. e. a somewhat-short flight limping along at normal speed. We never got a real time line between the Battle of Hoth and what happens on Bespin while Luke is learning how to Jedi, so we can't assume it was just a 30 minute flight.

>Vader w/e
Easier to just capture the Falcon (Luke and Leia) while it's flying within range of the Executor's tractor beams, with TIEs herding it towards there. They can't out up a more individualized fight while trapped in the Falcon like they could in person with guns and stuff.
>>
>>87453693
It's not like Luke was meant to necessarily be stronger. After everything Yoda learned about their failures from the Clone Wars why expect him to want Luke to go in like some kind of Force god and spank the Emperor to death with righteous justice? He flat out told Luke that Luke already knew that which he needed. And you know what? He was right.

I guess he did that wacky trusting in the Force thing they like to talk about.

When Darth Vader gives Luke the news that he is his father, Luke is hanging just a few feet away from Vader. Then, Luke decides to jump off his landing, falling to the bottom of the cloud city where Han Solo picks him up. The oddity comes here: Darth Vader is very powerful with the force, as demonstrated earlier. Why can't he use the force to prevent Luke from falling, or to bring Luke back to him from the hanging? Doing so should be relatively easy against the newly trained Jedi.
>>
>>87453813
Vader lives for the chase, also I'm sure he knows that if Luke is turned tot he Dark Side he will be replaced so better to have Luke run off and him give chase just so he isn't discarded

>>
>>87453813
His own son just threw himself to what could have very easily been his doom. You have to realize that this really isn't the way Vader planned it, and also you have to remember that the Force takes concentration. Vader doesn't quite seem himself after these events. Luke's refusal to join him, the sheer horror his son reacted with, are supposed to be the catalyst for why Vader was starting to behave differently. Not killing Piett or anyone else after Piett flat out promised the Falcon couldn't escape and in Return he relies more on the Emperor being a threat than himself.
>>
>>87453892
It's not like they were having any luck from any other angle. Presumably they felt going for the head, the control center, was a smarter choice than trying to blast through the armored body. The neck still is a weak spot, too. That's how they blew up one of the walkers that a tow cable brought down.
>>
>>87453892
The AT-AT armor is too strong for blasters. The Rebellion can fly at their rear firing shots all day and won't penetrate their armor.

The only weakness besides tripping then is their neck (as seen in he film, a shot to the next blows on up) and you have to fly at them head on to do it.

Vader pictured that they reach the Falcon, blast away into space, can't jump to hyperspace, then get pulled in by a tractor beam.

No they weren't. The medical droid is talking to Luke about how difficult it would be to move them onto the transports. But by that point they have to move out before the Empire hammer downs. Losing the T-47s was a massive setback.

I don't think people realize how big a loss Hoth was for the Rebellion. Their HQ got hit hard and scattered and they lost a lot of their heavy equipment.
>>
>>87454341
Lando knew it was fucked and he was working with Vader so he probably told him. And Artoo finds out how to fix the ship from the Cloud City central computer, which means the computer must have taken a log that the hyperdrive had been fixed, but just turned off. That's why Artoo basically just flips a switch and the Falcon jets into hyperspace.

Maybe the Falcon was connected to the city's computer for repairs, and it hadn't been disconnected when the Empire deactivated the hyperdrive
>>
>>87454480
>They were expendable from the start. Little more than glorified sentries
I wouldn't exactly call that expendable. Some of the best pilots flew the T-47s to provide cover fire for the transport ships. X-Wings had the job of escorting the transports because they contained some of the Rebellions higher ups. They were a bit more Important but the idea is they thought they had the time to hold the Imperials and evacuate the heavy equipment. While Rogue group did their job they took heavy casualties and lost some irreplaceable equipment but they had to get the special personnel off-world. I can't see that as expendable.

We do, but the computer inside your car isn't advanced enough to provide much detail. Most cars are able to detect that something is wrong (hence you get light-up warnings on your dashboard) but can't tell exactly why it's wrong.

So why did Obi Wan wait until ESB to tell Luke to find Yoda? I thought of this after realizing that the only significant thing in ESB in the first half of the movie is Luke seeking out Yoda. Everything else seems like stuff that could have easily happened in the Marvel Star Wars series.

I like to think that Luke had either recently learned something very important to his Jedi training that he would need a wise teacher to help him understand or he had simply hit a brick wall in his self training and Obi Wan realized that he was ready for a teacher to guide him.

Little side thought: I wonder what Like thought of Count Dooku. I can imagine one of the first things he asked Yoda about was clarification on Dooku starting the Clone Wars and what exactly happened when r he Jedi supposedly tried to assassinate Chancellor Palpatine.

Yeah, I think Obi-Wan was holding back until it was clear Luke had exhausted all other avenues of training/knowledge. I think the bigger question is whether this was something Obi-Wan decided himself, or if there was some other factor preventing him from acting until then, since he and Qui-Gon have both implied there are constraints that keep them from getting further involved.

As far as Dooku and the assassination attempt on Palpatine, I get the feeling those things didn't come up while he was on Dagobah, and I wouldn't doubt it if Luke's knowledge of the Clone Wars is just "there was a big war with clones, Jedi were involved" and he has no idea who any of the big players in the war were or any of the key events.

I like to think that Yoda had a way of triggering his own death and always kept that option open in case Luke asked him a very uncomfortable question.
>"Yoda, I heard you had an apprentice that turned to the dark side who helped the Emperor destroy the galaxy, do you feel you have any responsibility over that?"
>"Hrrm... outside of my tutelage he was... his choices were his own."
>"But doesn't that still fall on you for not having taught him how to resist the dark side well enough? If Vader's fall is on Obi-Wan's shoulders, doesn't that also mean Dooku's fall is on yours?"

I think people underestimate Luke's knowledge of the prequel era. I think he probably believes tba Clone Wars was a war started by some Jedi named Count Dooku and eventually at the end of the war the rest of the Jedi joined the Separatists and attempted to take over the Republic. Then the Separatists lost and the Republic was reformed into the Empire. Not too in detail where he knows specific names (outside of Dooku and Grevious since they were probably as well known as Hitler and Mussolini today). I think people don't realize that 1: the Clone Wars and formation of the Empire are about as important as World War 2 and the fall of the Soviet Union in today's world and 2: Luke was a clever kid who may have been somewhat knowledgeable about politics given that he was enthusiastic about the Rebellion when he was cleaning 3PO in ANH.
>>
>>87456991
>So why did Obi Wan wait until ESB to tell Luke to find Yoda?

Because manifesting yourself in the force to communicate to people is fucking hard. Qui-gon can only do it audibly and it took him 13 years before he could talk to anyone.
>>
>>87457445
The ironic thing about that is in the end, Palpatine saying the Jedi tried to assassinate him probably had some people thinking that the Jedi were right to try.

Two short sentences. If Obi-wan were actually capable of regularly appearing and guiding Luke in his training, I think he would. He, and others like him, can only point them in the right direction at best.

>You can hear him scream ANAKIN NOOOO in AOTC when Yoda is sensing the Tusken massacre.

I'm still not entirely sure of that one considering Yoda was surprised as hell when Qui-gon started talking to him during the clone war.

>I'm still not entirely sure of that one considering Yoda was surprised as hell when Qui-gon started talking to him during the clone war.
I think he probably thought he was imagining him in AOTC and didn't think much of it. In TCW, Qui-Gon is actually speaking directly to him, so that's what gives Yoda pause and makes him go "wait, is this for real?"

I enjoyed Anakin's dialogue with Luke because he was being genuinely sincere and teaching Luke the ways of the Force (in the twisted Sith form). Was Darth Vader really forgiven by the entire galaxy after his brief redemption? I'm honestly baffled because like 99% of Legends and canon material depict him doing outrageously evil or cruel shit with zero remorse even if he doesn't always (if ever) enjoy any of it.

All that was just brushed aside for one moment of goodness?

No. He was seen as Hitler. Imagine of right before Hitler killed himself he ordered the release of all prisoners from concentration camps and have all Nazi tactical info to a US general to ensure an ally victory? This may have happened for all we know but even of this were to be revealed tomorrow the world wouldn't see Hitler as that different. You also have to take into account that Vader was considered a myth until the New Republic took over.

>Was Darth Vader really forgiven by the entire galaxy after his brief redemption?
No, and I don't know where you got this idea. Only Luke seemed to think of him as redeemed- the galaxy at large probably has no idea that he had a last minute team switch right before dying, and if they did it wouldn't matter. Even Leia doesn't forgive him despite what Luke said because he at least has the benefit of seeing his father as a good man one last time- Leia's only memories of him are horrible.

Also, this becomes a plot point in Bloodline, where Leia's connection to Vader being made public destroys her political career.

No. The galaxy remembers him as a mass murderer, and now probably as a fucking breathing example of galactic mythology coming back to haunt the galaxy.

It's even to the point that his legacy has actually ruined his children's credibility as heroes of the Rebellion, and completely destroyed Leia's influence and standing in the Senate.

>One of the arguments against this change is that Luke would have no idea who Hayden!Anakin was right there.

The same can almost, ALMOST, be said of the other guy. Luke had maybe a couple looks at the pasty white nearly deformed face of his father before putting it back in the mast and cremating him.

From Luke's perspective, old or young Anakin aught to be almost equally unrecognizable.

From Anakin's perspective, it makes sense for him to appear young. Obi-wan, Yoda and Anakin manifest themselves visually out of memory. Anakin would've had no idea how he looked in his 40s, naturally. So he defaulted to how he remembers his appearance before his prosthesis.

The only real thing that bothered me about their using Hayden is why they didn't put him in his regular Jedi robes? Why was he wearing the same thing Obi-wan/Guinness wore?

If you like deep character backstories you'll love nucanon. No reason why you couldn't get into both nucanon and EU material. I think for Leia and Vader stuff you would like the books Bloodlines and Lord's of the Sith. And the comics Darth Vader and Princess Leia. The book Moving Target is pretty good too even though it's a kids book. It gets into Leia doing a morally reprehensible mission for the Rebellion that will see to a of innocents die to distract the Empire before the Battle of Endor.

At the time the Thrawn Trilogy comics were coming out, the decision had just been made to cast Natalie Portman as the future mother of Luke and Leia. The author of the comics then decided, as a reference, to place her likeness in the background. Although this clashes to some extent with the eventual revelation that Leia never knew her mother, this comic nonetheless was the first in-universe appearance of Padmé.

Politics in Star Wars when portrayed in Lucas and/or Disney related or made material are completely retarded. It's like the Galaxy is populated by complete idiots. Desperate war doesn't mean deregulation, it means nationalization.

Legends EU portrayed politics fairly well and accurately. Disney Canon has Space GOP and Space Democrats. It has a NR going back to the mistakes of its Old Republic predecessors.

Still can't get as bad as TCW, where corporations that have OPENLY supported the Confederacy AS SEEN not just in novels and shit but also the fucking canon movies like Episode II are just allowed to retain their Senate seats like its nothing. Then they go on to say that the CIS isn't sponsored by the Trade Federation, Techno Union, IGBC etc when the FUCKING MOVIES evidently and clearly state that they are.

>muh plausible deniability

Nope, no it isn't plausible. The Techno Union's Daft Punk DJ led an invasion of Ryloth, the Banking Clan dudes led CIS droid armies out on the field against the Jedi, Nute Gunray and his buddy was seen right at Dooku's side as early as the Battle of Geonosis. I get the sense that the similarities between ANH and TFA are going to be explained as a destiny 'buffer' due to Kylo nearly destroying the Jedi again. Anakin is still the chosen one but he only guaranteed that the galaxy would be saved through the butterfly effect. The force will now alter the destiny of many people forcing them to act towards protecting what the chosen one saved. This weird buffer was the force saying 'ok so what that Luke kid did in 0BBY was a good start. Lets go back to that point and replace Luke with Rey so she can help right some of the wrongs Luke did with his Jedi Order.'

I say this because I strongly believe that these similarities between ANH and TFA will be recognized by characters in universe. I could easily see a future book where Leia mentions how similar those events were.

I ask because he looks like he's in his 70s in ANH, and it was only 19 years after ROTS
>>
>>87459479
No, the events are similar because there was no one creative involved in writing the movie.
Even the names aren't new.

good try desu but they want to form a commission, a slow investigation. All they really need to do is send a scout ship and see the MASSIVE FUCKING FLEET OF ARMED FREIGHTERS standing over Naboo, as well as the Rogers all over the place establishing concentration camps.

>muh plausible deniability
This is a very real thing, though. Actual businesses in real life get away with a lot of shit, and real life war profiteering has and still does happen. The fact that they're businesses first is what makes it tricky- they're not siding entirely with one side because it's not profitable to do that. You mention that Nute Gunray is seen with Dooku but TCW addresses this- everyone knows the Trade Federation has deals with the Separatists but it's hard to actually prove since they've publicly distanced themselves from Gunray. There was an episode actually dedicated to this.

Real world businesses sell to both sides. The CIS corporations don't sell to the Republic. They make battle droids, tanks and starships specifically for the CIS. Sure, if they sold to both sides then it'd work, but they don't. It's the VERY REASON why the Separatist Council was killed off and why their corporations were 'Imperialized' after Episode III and put directly under Imperial control.

The only business that wasn't nationalized was the InterGalactic Banking Clan, because those space jews did credit both sides of the war. The Trade Federation's affiliated droid manufacturers, however, went over completely to the CIS side. It's obvious when you note that there's no Battle Droids on the Republic Army's side. Rogers are useless when you got Clones, but a lot of the specialized B2 Super Battle Droids would've been extremely useful. And that's not even getting into tanks and ships.
>>
>>87459538
Speculation. There are currently no ways to test the effects of two suns on humans as we only got the one.
>>
>>87459217
>>87459308

I feel like you guys aren't getting the point that no one wanted the war in the first place. The Clones appeared out of nowhere and suddenly everyone was plunged into a long and expensive conflict. Not only that but it severely fucked the economy. It's not a big stretch to imagine politicians wanting peace talk after this war of attrition. Look at Vietnam or Korea or the Iran-Iraq war. The episodes featuring the Separatist senate show them in the same position as the Republic. Everyone wanted the war over but Palpatine was manipulating events.
>>
>>87459512
If they did that, all they'd see is one ship. Plus senate bureaucracy being what it is, the fact that an easy solution like sending a scout ship isn't viable due to all the red tape is kind of the point. Palpatine spent an entire scene telling Amidala how the senate's full of petty douches who aren't getting anything done.

I mean, how is this even going to be brought up? If Amidala goes "send a ship!" she's just going to get browbeaten by Lott Dod and others and try to force a committee anyway. Valorum tried to cut through their bullshit but ended up conceding because he had to follow senate rules. This is all spelled out in the very scene you linked to.
>>

>The CIS corporations don't sell to the Republic. They make battle droids, tanks and starships specifically for the CIS.
Most of those aren't actually making weapons, though, they're commerce guilds.
>>
>>87459564
I suppose I have to concede now that I watch the scene more closely. The intention is to portray a Republic that doesn't work, so within that context it makes sense.

What I don't concede to is the Disney portrayal of politics. Why the fuck would they want to go back to a corrupt, dysfunctional and disarmed Republic?

Baktoid wasn't part of that meeting, though. Granted, the Techno Union was, but they're not really a huge presence in TCW (and how they got neutrality as of the Bad Batch arc is a mystery), but that still leaves you with the Trade Federation, which doesn't manufacture weapons at all.

No, Dave more or less said that they kinda want to leave it be/ambiguous. Like if they cloned it, it's still on monster island/planet or someshit.

Bottom line, don't count on it coming up again.

No, they were still officially Republic worlds. Part of the issue with the TF (which gets brought up a few times in TCW) is that it's obvious to everyone that they're working with the Separatists in more than just a "neutral trade" capacity but it's hard to legally prove because they've managed to weasel their way out of accusations.
>>
>>87459741
>Actually new material established that the Galactic Empire and any vestige of it disintegrated
Incorrect. If an Imperial Warlord declares he's not part of the Empire anymore, he's not part of the Empire anymore. His sector is something different. The Ukraine is not part of Russia anymore it's own country. It's similar with the Empire.

To be fair, those shells were also seen in Revenge of the Sith and were shown to be pretty volatile. ATDPs aren't as armored as ATSTs either, and those spindly legs probably mean that hits are going to throw them off balance more severely.

In addition to all of that, at least as far as the OT and PT, a lot of armored soldiers (both clones and stormtroopers) are never shown to actually be killed when shot with a blaster. A lot of them scream and fall over, but since you can't exactly see the severity of the injury it's difficult to tell whether they're mortally wounded or just stunned from the impact.

Phase 1 armor had bells and whistles and aesthetics but it was uncomfortable for clones to move around in. Phase 2 armor was meant to rectify that with equipment that was easier to move around in and more user friendly.

Stormtrooper armor reflects the transition from an active fighting force to a more varied peacekeeping force. Stormtrooper suits can be adapted for extreme temperatures(hence why Sandtroopers can march around in the desert no problem with minor adjustments), and are meant to do more in a patrolling context than a moment to moment battle context.

FO trooper armor I have no fucking clue though.

It's funny, because he turned the bridge of the Enterprise into an Apple store, and then he turned stormtroopers into iphones/ducks.
>>
>>87460814

The thing about FO armor is it's a lot like the nuWings in that it's close but it's got just enough problems to be offputting.

If the bottom jutted out a bit more like the classic trooper helmet or a motorcycle helmet it'd probably look better but right now the helmets are so ...smooth. They're featureless in a way no other helmets were and really need some extra elements in there.

Then you have the back portion of their armor. In classic armor it follows that old space marine tradition of keeping tech you can't jam in the chest in a backpack. But now that's gone except for weird shit like a random hole cut in for no discernable reasons. But then for some reason there's a weird canister hanging over the ass.

Like it's just emblemetic of Abrams's awful general design choices. If you stuck at least the small tank or a battery pack or something on the back plate it'd be more suggestive of the same detailing classic suits have while giving more idea of functionality. If you changed the helmet to resemble an actual helmet it'd have been much better. The whole design looks like it went in totally the wrong direction.

>>87460877

The thing is at the time I KINDA bought J.J.'s ideas on Star Trek. Touch Screens were new and exciting and it's the future of earth updated to look like "our" future so touch screens are an obvious idea.

But it just does not fit the aesthetic the FO should have. A bunch of villains hiding out in the ass end of the galaxy should look more rugged and utilitarian. Even if it's standardized and undamaged the ipad design implies it's so tightly wedged if something is damaged you can scrap and replace the whole suit like an ipad, instead of repairing it like a valuable piece of equipment from a cash strapped group of militants as the FO should logically be.
>>
>>87460905
>The thing is at the time I KINDA bought J.J.'s ideas on Star Trek.
Me too.
But like you said, Star Wars is a whole different animal.

I got bad Starfleet/future San Fran vibes from that shot of Corsella on HP. What she's wearing etc...
>>
>>87460928

Ultimately J.J. Abrams was just fundamentally the wrong person to direct this film. It has nothing to do with Disney and everything to do with the person making the decisions personally. There were a bunch of other "updated" stormtrooper armor updates online for free already and the concept art shows there were ideas for stuff that were going in a better direction that J.J. just didn't want to do.

People love to blame Disney as this big faceless corporation because then it's nobodies fault if the movie sucks balls, but that's not believable. You can blame specific individuals for shit going down as executives(I've heard Jeffrey Katzenberg is a fucking idiot with less understanding of what's onscreen than a child, and that's killing dreamworks for example. Or Kevin Tsujihara meddling in everything and demanding the DCCU be as it is.), but the moment you point the finger at a big faceless corporation it looks less like an explanation and more like just saving face.
>>
>>87460977
Yeah, there was some good concept art for the movie that went unused.
Almost every other Kylo Ren choice was much better, for christ's sake.

I really think this drives home that even with talented designers, the aesthetic of the film still comes down to the director in the end.
TFA made me double down on my appreciation of the prequels.

>Its true, all of it.

Would be an awesome way to troll JJ and people obsessed by canon.
>>

That's because JJ has not a single creative bone in his body.
He goes for generic flashy sci-fi because it's easier than to come up with your own style.

He has spent his entire life copy cat:ing people after all.
Why people still hire him is beyond me.
>>
>>87461360
Because he copies things "really well"

>>87461139
I don't really see how either of those people would be upset? The latter would be quite welcoming. The former will pretend it doesn't exist anyways.

>Filoni already said Zillo wouldn't be doable with the Rebels budget.
Well, shit.
They could easily bring it in the movies, though.

>>87459982
Yes it is. It appeared in the canon Clone Wars television series.

Yeah, """""""""really well"""""""""
