So if I got this right. Volthoom was an Earth 3 astronaut that somehow made a jump to Earth 0 back in the day and became the first lantern. He then was imprisoned for evil until escaping for the event. The event ended with him blowing up or something and his ring went back to Earth 3 to become part of the Crime Syndicate and invade and then choose Jessica, while his body recovered to this weakened state we see here now.

I started getting into comics during New52 and I'm still trying to finish Superman/Superman and Batman before I start reading Rebirth.
