Season 1 is a very different show from seasons 2 or 3, but I like it for that. It's still funny, original and charming, and on top of that being comfy as fuck.

Just watched Whirlybrains yesterday. It's definitely good but it's very different from what I expected. The concept itself is just kind of bizarre and there's a lot more "stretchy" cartoony facial expressions and such - I could see this being a Ren & Stimpy episode or something.
