>they want an oscar for this movie.
Seriously?
Studios send out awards screeners and material for award consideration for most of their movies. It's pretty standard. You're just fallingor shillingfor AV Club clickbait.

yep
>>87251169
It is the best animated movie this year. Thought you're right
>implying Oscars = quality
>>87251904
>It is the best animated movie this year
but this isn't Kubo
>>87252059
>not Finding Dory
>>87251169
Hey if they wanna buy an Oscar, let em. It's their money that they refused to pay the animators and are now using to buy a worthless gold trinket.
>They want to recognize bold, original, risky breakthroughs, and that’s what Sausage Party is, however subversive. Plus, it’s just plain coo
>>87251169
I mean, they're not gonna get it
Also if Rogan wants an Oscar he should stop making dumb comedies and start acting in decent movies, he already proved he's a good actor several times
>>87252234
He has?
I'm pretty sure Rogan can only play himself.

Watch Steve Jobs

Kubo isn't gonna win shit. It was classic Oscarbait in that it was a story about the importance of stories, but Oscar Voters don't watch kids movies. They rely on what their granddaughter says she liked, and a) she didn't like fucking scary samurai movie, and b) nobody fucking saw Kubo anyway. Finding Dory pretty much has it locked down.
I'd put BAF odds at:
82% Finding Dory
8% Zootopia
7% Sausage Party (This is the Trump option; "Stop asking me to vote on best animated feature, I direct fucking documentaries!")
3% Kubo
>>87251904
It won't even be top 5
DUDE
SWEARING FOOD
LMAO
>>87251169
Seems more like a marketing shtick. Generate some Oscar buzz, even if it's only stuffy Hollywood snobs belittling it. That makes people curious, so more people will buy the DVD or at least rent it that they would have.
>>87252576
this
>>87252539
I wouldn't even give Kubo that much, it's basically a fight between Zootopia and Sausage Party to see which can remain relevant enough to "compete" with Finding Dory.
>>87252481
Why would you?
Disney still has one more film coming out. Sasuage Party wont be able to make the list.
>>87252539
Finding Dory is a sequel.
Sequels only win when they're making up for some earlier film that got snubbed. Zootopia or Moana will win.
>>87253226
My bet is on Moana, preachy furry movie is already forgotten by kids.
