I went to the ER within an hour after the pain started. Lower right abdominal pain is not to be fucked with.

If that fucker bursts your abdomen gets flooded with some of the most evil bacteria possible and you essentially get poisoned by your own shit. Not just shit, but infected toxic shit.

Remove it before it bursts:
>minor day surgery (laparoscopic)
>little tiny hole for fiber optic camera
>I was back at work in 48 hours
>got prescription for painkillers but never needed them

Remove it after it bursts:
>Die in agony like a woudned cowboy in an older western film who was gutshot
>or
>slice open belly and abdominal muscles
>clean out entire abdominal cavity of all the evil shit that gets everywhere
>remove what remains of appendix, and hope infection didn't spread to other tissue
>high risk of sepsis/blood poisoning
>off work for 6+ weeks or longer depending on secondary infections
>High risk of hernia after recovery (no lifting over 25 pounds for next 6 months) but if your job needs daily heavily lifting you are fucked.

It is amazing people in the 21st century still downplay abdominal pain. "Hurr it was just a bad burrito, it's nothing!"
